Noe and James LaBerge

James Onesime LaBerge (left) and Noe LaBerge (right) were the sons of Louis LABERGE (Louis and Euphrosine LEFEBVRE) and Henrietta LEGAULT - DESLAURIERS (Jean-Baptiste and Angelique BRUNET)who were married 6 Feb 1844, in Beauharnois. Other siblings in this family were Louis, Michael and Salome.
James was born in 1852 and died in 1927. He married Mary Jane St. Martin, whose family came from Ontario, Canada. James owned a shoe store in East Tawas, Michigan and was very active in community life. At one time he was mayor of East Tawas and also ran for the Michigan State Legislature (but was defeated). Mary Jane St. Martin LaBerge had an electric automobile during the mid-1920's.
Noe as born June 24, 1849 and died in the "roundhouse accident" January 17, 1910 in East Tawas. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He married Victoria Crevier (daughter of Benjamin Crevier and Mathilde Ouimet)in 1876. Victoria was born on April 18, 1887. After they married, they lived in a little town called Howick, Quebec, until 1887 when Victoria's father died. Noe and Victoria lived in Quebec as Victoria's father had refused to allow his daughter to go to the "wilds of Michigan" following her marriage in 1876. They had thirteen children, four of whom died before the age of one year, including a set of twins. Corinda, Delisca, Denesge, Aurore and Beatrice were born in Canada; George, Eugene, Hubert and Hortense were born in East Tawas, Michigan.
