Children of Joseph Laberge and Sophie Soucisse

Pictured above are some of the offspring of Joseph Laberge and Sophie Soucisse of Wotton, Quebec. The brothers and sister depicted here immigrated to the New England are in the late 1800s/early 1900s. The descendants from this family account for a large majority of Laberges and LaBarges in the New England states today. This photograph was taken sometime before 1921.
Standing, L-R:
- Antoine Laberge: b. 1867 d. 1942. Married Eveline Masse in 1893 in Leeds, MA. Antoine settled in the Leeds section of Northampton, MA and is buried there. Descendants of Antoine Laberge adopted the "LaBarge" spelling of the name. Antoine often went by the name "Anthony."
- Louis Delphis Laberge: b. 1864 d. 1941. Married Leda Lefebvre in 1885 in Wotton, PQ. Louis settled in Manchester, NH, and is buried there.
- Joseph Laberge: b. 1856 d. 1921. Married Rose Delima Vigeau in 1882 in Wotton, PQ. Descendants of Joseph who resided in Northampton, MA adopted the "LaBarge" spelling of the name, while all the others retained the original "Laberge" spelling. ("LaBarge" is enscribed on Joseph's tombstone.)

- Arsenne Laberge: b. abt 1859 d. 1934. Married Leocadie Vachon in 1882 in Wotton, PQ. Also married to Delia Lafreniere. Resided in Leeds, MA, and is buried there. Arsenne's descendants adopted the "LaBarge" spelling of the surname. Arsenne was, reportedly, also known to the family as "Sam."
- Lina Laberge: Married Jean-Baptiste Pellerin in 1889 in Windsor, PQ. Resided in Wilton, NH.
- Jean-Baptiste Laberge: b. 1860 d. 1944. Married Zoe Matton in 1879 in Wotton, PQ. Resided in Leeds, MA and Wilton, NH. Buried in Leeds, MA. Also known as "John."
