September 4, 2005 This story was originally told by Witt Presley brother of Archie Presley In the fall of 1880, there was a barn raising. After the barn was finished they held a dance. Archie played a fiddle. Something happened but Witt didn't know what. Archie left the dance went home and got Emily and the kids. They left and no one heard from him again. In the 1950's, Witt and his son Amos, who was a preacher, came to Dizney, Harlan Co., KY to hold a revival. This is how we found out anything about Archie or his family. If it hadn't been for Witt and his son coming to Dizney, we never would have know anything about Archie's siblings, mother or father. Archie is s/o Martin Presley & Rachel (Unknown). Witt is s/o Martin Presley & Celia Lawson. |
