MY KINFOLKS OF KY AND BEYOND 1969 BUICK SKYLARK WAGON PAGE 5

This is how the car looks today!
As you can see, there have been a lot of changes made to the car.
The pictures do not do the car justice. The color of the car is a custom PPG color, Sea Coral. The lower section (which doesn't show up in the pictures well) is House of Kolor Candy Purple with Red Red Marblizer mixed in for a unique effect. Photos do not capture the true detail and effect that this wagon has in person.
Here are just a few of the items that have been done to the car to take it from the 70's SUV to today's Hot Rod Status:
Complete drive train has been replaced with a 402 Big Block Chevrolet and all of the other performance goodies to move such a large monster at an exciting pace. Along with a nice and loud 2 1/2" exhaust system, just to announce this Wagon Can Really Haul Some Groceries!
To help control all of this excitement, every piece of the suspension was disassembled and fitted with performance parts to enhance handling and drivability along with adding Power Disc Brakes.
The first thing to go cosmetically was the roof rack. The rest of the body was then smoothed, with hours of care taken to fit and finish and covered with multiple coats of PPG custom colors and clear coated.
The car was finished off by adding 17" Billet Specialities Wheels with enough rubber wrapped around them to do the job at hand!
Here's some very exciting news! Even though it's not the Buick being featured in a magazine, Darrell's expertise in the automotive field is. He worked on a 1969 AMX for Brad Brunner. Brad's AMX made the front page cover of Ryder's Magazine. There is also a two page spread on pages 12 and 13 of the magazine. WAY TO GO!
