There is a lot of confusion concerning my Casteel families, but I do know that James (age 60) and Elizabeth are on the Lawrence County,Ky census for 1850. One son John Casteel and wife Mary Rudd are also listed as separate household. THEODORE STEELE was killed in a truck wreck outside Chillicothe, Ohio. His wife and daughter Dorothys husband William Carver (my dad) were with him but survived. My dad told me they were hurrying home before dark because the headlights didn't work. The springs on the old farm truck were "all wired together" and dad said they broke loose and "Dorrie" lost control. They were all thrown free but the truck landed on Theodore. Dad suffered a broken neck and grandma Grace a concussion.
