JOSEPH "JOE" GRANVILLE HACKER son of JAMES PEARL HACKER and LUCY HORNSBY was born 1942 in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky. He married MYRTLE ELIZABETH GRUBB 05 October, 1963 in Jellico, Campbell County, Tennessee, daughter of ROY GRUBB and DAPHNE HARLESS. She was born1947 in Alvarado, Washington County, Virginia.









A Note From Joe
I was in Viet Nam from 1969 until Dec of 1970. My home base was in Quin Nan although I did not see it often because of being out in the field all the time. I would not talk about what I did or what all I saw while I was there and, I came home to a country of people that treated me like a dog and the welcome home sign my wife and kids put up for me was torn down when we got back from the airport. I was on the Honor Guard when I returned from Nam and it was an Honor to bury my fellow members that did not come home alive but even doing that I was cursed out and spit on by their families and Americans. I thought it was an honor to fight for and keep America Free but how wrong I was about that and even today Americans don't stop to think and thank GOD for the Military that is fighting to keep our country Free.
