JOHN LAY born 03 October 1834 in Campbell County, Tennessee and died 02 June 1895 in Knox County, Kentucky. He is the son of SPENCER LAY and LUCINDA PERKINS. He married CYNTHIA STANFILL on 07 April 1853. She was born 17 October 1838 in Campbell County, Tennessee. He served as Sheriff of Knox County, Kentucky in 1874. He also served as a member of the Legislature. He was also involved in the sponsoring of the bridge over the Cumberland River, with his name is being on the plaque on the bridge. His Great Grandfather was LEWIS JAY LAY, his son WILLIAM STEVEN LAY, his daughter ETHEL LAY MILLER, Mother of HOMER MILLER. This is my Husband, Homer Miller's Great Great Grandfather.
