Turn off 25E Highway to Wallins exit 119 Highway Follow 119 to town of Wallins. From Wallins town going towards Creech's go approx. 2 miles or to first bridge you come to there will be a trailor park on left hand side of road just before you get to next bridge there is a road that turns to the left called Camp Creek. Follow that road for about 2 city blocks, take road to left it leads to cemtetery.

located 12 miles west of Cawood on Highway 987. Turn left across river on the Kelly/Smith Cemetery road.Take road up behind homes to Cemetery on hill. This is a well kept Cemetery enclosed by a chain link fence. It is mowed and kept clean in the summer. There are lots of graves that are only marked by field stones or hand made stones and can no longer be read.

From Harlan take 38 East to 1601 (6.6 miles), turn right onto 1601. 1601 is a dead end road. If you see Evarts Memorial Gardens on your left, you have gone too far. Located on Jones Creek. Go up to the home of Verda King and cross the little stream by the side of the house. Then you walk up the hill and go to the far left by the fence. When you go to the top of the hill, there will be a tree and there under it you will find the first grave. Beyond that grave you walk about 200 yards and you are at the cemetery.

The graveyard is one of the oldest in the Evarts...41 of the graves were unmarked except for a crude stone at the head and foot of each grave...I have been told by several people that a lot of the graves are from the 1700's and were there long before any kind of funeral services were available here. The small cemetery is located on a knoll in Bailey's Creek right outside the city of Evart's Kentucky.

located on Slater's Fork of Black Mountain. The Fee Graveyard is difficult to find. Permission must be obtained from the coal company which controls access to the mountainous area. Like most of the mountain graveyards, the Fee Cemetery is not neatly laid out nor maintained. A few of the graves are not marked at all save by depressions in the ground, many only have rocks at the head and/or foot. The diagram below indicates a rough location for each of the sections listed below.

Old Wallins (or) Masonic Cemetery, located in Wallins Creek, Harlan County, Kentucky. Here is the way Kathryn Howard Trail gives directions to this cemetery in her excellent book, Cemeteries In Southwestern Harlan County, Kentucky: "From stop light in the City of Wallins, drive South .01 miles to Wallins Baptist Church and turn left at the south side of the church. Drive .01 miles on black-topped road to the top of the hill and make a sharp left. That brings you between the two sections of the Masonic Cemetery. The lower section, which used to be called THE OLD WALLINS CEMETERY, was recorded 1 Apr 1985 by Rose Long and Kathryn Trail." Wallins Creek is about eight miles west of Harlan, Kentucky and is located on the south side of Route 119 which runs between Harlan and Pineville to the west of Harlan. It is difficult to see the town from Route 119. The turnoff from Route 119 into Wallins is Route 219.

Directions from the Harlan Hospital continue on US-Hwy 421 S for about 2.5 miles, turn right on to Old Us-Hwy 421 (sign will say Martins Fork Lake) drive for almost 4 miles, turn right onto bridge across from Fast and Friendly Mart you are now on KY-987. Drive about 1 mile. Then turn left across from trailor park at the turn you will see a brick house and the sign that says Pope Cem RD,continue up road, there will be the cemetary.

The road that goes to the cemetery is not marked with a name, and it is hidden and not visible from Hwy 119. The cemetery is on Hwy 119 between Hwy 25E & Hwy 421. The cemetery sits between the UPS building (UPS building address is 2295 US Hwy. 119 S. Baxter Ky 40806) and Marys Country Store (it's on the same side as the Country store). There is a white house with black trim that sits on the corner of the road to the cemetery. When you go up the road it splits, you stay to the right this road is pretty steep and only 1 car can drive it at a time and when you get to the top there is a very small place to park only 2 cars maybe. There are heavy amount of trees around it. When your going toward Pineville it's on your right side if your going to Loyall it's on your left side. Thank you Chester Disney!

Being a very small family cemetery, it is up in Gabes Branch and is accessible part way by car, the rest of the way is only accessible by foot as it is on an overhang at the top of the mountain. The path up to the cemetery is very steep and narrow, however it does look as though there used to be stairs of some sort going up there many years ago.

Tway used to be a place. It was a mining camp up in one of the hollers betwen Harlan and the Harlan Appalachian Hospital area (which includes Browing Acres and Sunny Acres). If you are leaving Harlan and going towards the Hospital, it was the first bridge to the right after the Catholic Church. That whole area is now the business section of Harlan, there's a new bridge, the grocery store, hardware store and Wal Mart in that area. The mine has been gone for years!

located about 14 miles west of Cawood, Kentucky on Highway 987. You have to take a road to your right off 987 up on the Stone mountain for just a short distance. This cemetery cannot be reached by car easily. The rows start at the entrance to the cemetery. It appears to be a family cemetery, and is in fair condition.

The Wix Howard cemetery was located on top of the mountain where the river was diverted through at Loyall, altho there are a few graves still located on top of the Mountain the bulk of the remains were moved I'm told to the Resthaven cemetery in Keith. The caretaker at Resthaven told me there were 50 or 60 graves still there on the Mountain and if I'm not mistaken he said there were 6000 moved to his cemetery. Per Carl Estes
