Alva Memorial Gardens (Black Star) Cemetery Alva, Harlan County, Kentucky	Going on high 119 from Harlan or Pineville, at approximately the 17 mile marker is a bridge going to Highway 72. Cross this bridge and go approximately 10 miles give or take, to Alva,KY (Called Blackstar for former mining co.)
Ball Cemetery Evarts, Harlan County, Kentucky	Located on a hill above a baseball field about 1.5 miles North-East from Coxton on highway KY-38 about 5 miles south/southeast from Evarts in Harlan County.
Ball Cemetery Evarts, Harlan County, Kentucky	Located just outside of Evarts in Harlan County, the first road to the right going towards Shields.
Ben's Branch Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	This cemetery is located on the first gravel road to the left right after Ritter Camp on Rt 221. Its on coal property. Its about 2 miles in on strip road.
Bill's Creek Cemetery Dizney Harlan County, Kentucky	Located about 4 1/4 miles from Evarts, beside the Dizney Pentecostal Church.
Black Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at Louellen, on the left of Louellen Lake.
Black Bottom Cemetery Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	Located 6 miles from Evarts. Turn right across the bridge, turn left and go a short way. Up behind the house on the right.
Black Joe Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located on hillside about 3/4 mile from Golden Ash on KY Highway 38 in Harlan County KY.
Blanton Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	NEED DIRECTIONS
Old Blanton Cemetery/ Park Howard Cemetery Wallins Creek, Harlan County, Kentucky	Turn off 25E Highway to Wallins exit 119 Highway Follow 119 to town of Wallins. From Wallins town going towards Creech's go approx. 2 miles or to first bridge you come to there will be a trailor park on left hand side of road just before you get to next bridge there is a road that turns to the left called Camp Creek. Follow that road for about 2 city blocks, take road to left it leads to cemtetery.
Boggs Cemetery Ages Creek Harlan County, Kentucky	located in Ages Creek bottom, about 5 miles from Harlan on Highway 38.
Boggs Cemetery Holmes Mill Harlan County, Kentucky	Located near Gunsmokes.
Britton Cemetery Smith, Harlan County, Kentucky	located 12 miles west of Cawood on Highway 987. Turn left across river on the Kelly/Smith Cemetery road.Take road up behind homes to Cemetery on hill. This is a well kept Cemetery enclosed by a chain link fence. It is mowed and kept clean in the summer. There are lots of graves that are only marked by field stones or hand made stones and can no longer be read.
Brookside Cemetery Ages Creek Harlan County, Kentucky	located at the top of Ages Creek, across a small bridge, about 5 miles from Harlan on Highway 38.
Browning Cemetery II Three Point Harlan County, Kentucky	NEED DIRECTIONS
Burkhart Cemetery #1 Jones Creek, Verda, Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	From Harlan take 38 East to 1601 (6.6 miles), turn right onto 1601. 1601 is a dead end road. If you see Evarts Memorial Gardens on your left, you have gone too far. Located on Jones Creek. Go up to the home of Verda King and cross the little stream by the side of the house. Then you walk up the hill and go to the far left by the fence. When you go to the top of the hill, there will be a tree and there under it you will find the first grave. Beyond that grave you walk about 200 yards and you are at the cemetery.

Caudill Cemetery Kelly Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	Located up Kelly Branch, right before Holmes Mill.
Stephen Cawood Cemetery Cawood, Harlan County, Kentucky	It's up on the hill across from the Presbyterian Church on Mildred Street. Take #119 through Harlan and take the old road to Cawood. Just before the bridge that takes you to Virginia, turn left and go up the hill. Thank you Sheri Denney!
Colts Cemetery Colts Community Harlan County, Kentucky	Located in the Colt's Community. Turn left after crossing the bridge, go to the second railroad crosssing, turn right, then go ahead about 50 yards.
Jonathan Cornett Cemetery Dione, Harlan County, Kentucky	located in Dione Kentucky on the farm of Bill and Joan Peterson.
Crab Orchard Cemetery AKA Jones Cemetery Jones Creek, Verda, Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	From Harlan take 38 East to 1601 (6.6 miles), turn right onto 1601. 1601 is a dead end road. If you see Evarts Memorial Gardens on your left, you have gone too far. Located behind Joe Dean's house.
Creech Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	located past Dartmont on a hill behind the old Creech farmhouse.
Cupp Family Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located in No. 1 Camp. Above Wade Cupp's house, on the left.
Dean Cemetery Jones Creek, Verda, Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	located at East Jellico on Rt 92. Going west on 92 from US 25E take the second concrete bridge to the right. Road forks go to right. Be a sawmill on your left owned by a Dean. Cemetery is to the right and above this sawmill. Rains are to the right of mill across wash under two Sycamore trees.
Dixon Cemetery Redbud Harlan County, Kentucky	about 1 1/4 mile from Evarts. On a hill across from Grant Howard's old service station.
Dizney Church of God AKA Bill Creek Cemetery Dizney, Harlan County, Kentucky	From Evarts Memorial Gardens 4 1/2 miles continue on Highway 38 to Evarts, turn Right onto Highway 215. Turn left onto Bill's Creek. Cemetery is behind the Church.
Evarts Cemetery Evarts, Harlan County, Kentucky	The graveyard is one of the oldest in the Evarts...41 of the graves were unmarked except for a crude stone at the head and foot of each grave...I have been told by several people that a lot of the graves are from the 1700's and were there long before any kind of funeral services were available here. The small cemetery is located on a knoll in Bailey's Creek right outside the city of Evart's Kentucky.
Evarts Memorial Gardens Harlan County, Kentucky	Location: 2 miles southeast of Evarts, next to Highway 38, close to Verda community.
Farley/Farler Cemetery Fisher Hollow Harlan County, Kentucky	Located beside Bill Jack Wilson's log cabin. Stones were found while landscaping, buried in a pit.
Farmers Mill Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	NEED DIRECTIONS
Fee Cemetery Slater's Fork of Black Mountain Harlan County, Kentucky	located on Slater's Fork of Black Mountain. The Fee Graveyard is difficult to find. Permission must be obtained from the coal company which controls access to the mountainous area. Like most of the mountain graveyards, the Fee Cemetery is not neatly laid out nor maintained. A few of the graves are not marked at all save by depressions in the ground, many only have rocks at the head and/or foot. The diagram below indicates a rough location for each of the sections listed below.

Gray Knobs Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	located about 2 miles south of Harlan off of Highway #421 It is located off of a Mining company road and usually requires a 4 wheel drive to reach.

Kelly Cemetery #1 North Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	located in North Evarts in Mrs. Taylor's yard.
Kelly Cemetery #2 Right Hollow Harlan County, Kentucky	located up Right Hollow, the first hollow on the left going up Bailey's Creek.
Kelly Cemetery #3 Dartmont Harlan County, Kentucky	this graveyard is in Dartmont, in Mr Elite Napier's backyard.
Kelly Cemetery #4 Shields Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at Shields. Pass Big O's Service Station, turn left at the second lane. At the three way fork, continue straight. Go 1/4 of a mile, then turn right onto a dirt road, go to the top of the hill.
Kelly Cemetery #5 Holmes Mill Area Harlan County, Kentucky	Located across the road from the Huff Settlement Baptist Church.
Kings Cemetery Jones Creek Harlan County, Kentucky	located in Jones Creek, you first go up to Mrs. Teague's bridge and go up the holler right in front of the bridge and walk straight up to Jerry Kirby's and go up the mountain to the left. Then walk up 1/2 mile and there it is.
Knob Cemetery Bears Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	go to Bears Branch and go up about 100 feet and go up t he mountain to the left and then walk up about 500 feet and there it is.
Laurel Branch Cemetery Laurel Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	located in Laurel Branch, first road on the right in Redbud, going toward Dizney.
Hiram C LEWIS Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	located on Highway #119 at Hiram.
Louellen Cemetery Louellen Lake Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at Louellen, on the right side of Louellen Lake.
Old Masonic Cemetery/ Wallins Creek Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Old Wallins (or) Masonic Cemetery, located in Wallins Creek, Harlan County, Kentucky. Here is the way Kathryn Howard Trail gives directions to this cemetery in her excellent book, Cemeteries In Southwestern Harlan County, Kentucky: "From stop light in the City of Wallins, drive South .01 miles to Wallins Baptist Church and turn left at the south side of the church. Drive .01 miles on black-topped road to the top of the hill and make a sharp left. That brings you between the two sections of the Masonic Cemetery. The lower section, which used to be called THE OLD WALLINS CEMETERY, was recorded 1 Apr 1985 by Rose Long and Kathryn Trail." Wallins Creek is about eight miles west of Harlan, Kentucky and is located on the south side of Route 119 which runs between Harlan and Pineville to the west of Harlan. It is difficult to see the town from Route 119. The turnoff from Route 119 into Wallins is Route 219.

Middleton Cemetery Bailey's Creek Harlan County, Kentucky	Located up Bailey's Creek. Go past Manalapan gate 1/2 mile on right. It is fenced in.
Middleton Cemetery Pounding Mill Harlan County, Kentucky	Located beside Jimmy Dean's house on Highway 215.
Middleton Cemetery Sal's Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	located up the first road on the right off of Highway 38 past Sal's Branch. Behind Bill and Deloris Witt's house.
Mary T Middleton Cemetery River Ridge Harlan County, Kentucky	located at River Ridge, behind the Posey home.
Middleton Cemetery Cawood's Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	go up to Cawood's Branch about 200 yards until you come to the home of Odell Middleton and walk through her yard and then walk through a small field about 40 yards then you come up on the cemetery, located on Jone's Creek.
Middleton Cemetery Tan Trough Hollow Harlan County, Kentucky	Located on Tan Trough Hollow on the right.
Mitchell Cemetery Cawood, Harlan County, Kentucky	The cemetery is fenced in except for John Henry Brock who is outside the fence. The cemetery is located behind old Will Mitchell's cabin.

Musick Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	From South Clinchfield, VA go South on Rt 615 for about 3 miles. On the right is the entrance to Gravel Lick Church up a gravel drive. The cemetery is behind and around the church.
Napier Cemetery Cranks, Harlan County, Kentucky	located in Jones Creek. Go up behind the Combs house, get on t he trail and it will take you right to it.

Pope Cemetery Bob's Creek Near Cawood, Harlan County, Kentucky	Directions from the Harlan Hospital continue on US-Hwy 421 S for about 2.5 miles, turn right on to Old Us-Hwy 421 (sign will say Martins Fork Lake) drive for almost 4 miles, turn right onto bridge across from Fast and Friendly Mart you are now on KY-987. Drive about 1 mile. Then turn left across from trailor park at the turn you will see a brick house and the sign that says Pope Cem RD,continue up road, there will be the cemetary.
Pope Cemetery II Day's Branch Near Cawood, Harlan County, Kentucky	NEED DIRECTIONS
Rainbow Cemetery Jones Branch Harlan County, Kentucky	located on Jones Creek on the left above the Jones Creek Baptist Church. Behind Lance McCallister's house.
Resthaven Cemetery Keith, Harlan County, Kentucky	located on KY 840 at Keith, Kentucky. Exit US 119 at Keith and drive about 1/2 mile where the cemetery would be located on your left-hand side. Or, exit on 219S at Baxter and drive about 5 miles through Loyall, cross the Cumberland River at Rio Vista, and continue to the cemetery which would be located on your right-hand side.
Ridgeway Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at Ridgeway.
Ridgeway/Highsplint Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located below the mine.
Robbins Cemetery Allentown Harlan County, Kentucky	Located in Allentown. Turn up the substation road. It is at the top of the hill.
Rutherford Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located about a mile from Wynntown, going East, on Highway 38. Turn left past the store on the left and follow the road.
Sergent Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	located on Highway 522 at Rhea.between Putney and Rosspoint.
Shoemaker-Johnson Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	The road that goes to the cemetery is not marked with a name, and it is hidden and not visible from Hwy 119. The cemetery is on Hwy 119 between Hwy 25E & Hwy 421. The cemetery sits between the UPS building (UPS building address is 2295 US Hwy. 119 S. Baxter Ky 40806) and Marys Country Store (it's on the same side as the Country store). There is a white house with black trim that sits on the corner of the road to the cemetery. When you go up the road it splits, you stay to the right this road is pretty steep and only 1 car can drive it at a time and when you get to the top there is a very small place to park only 2 cars maybe. There are heavy amount of trees around it. When your going toward Pineville it's on your right side if your going to Loyall it's on your left side. Thank you Chester Disney!
Smith Family Cemetery Ages, Harlan County, Kentucky	Being a very small family cemetery, it is up in Gabes Branch and is accessible part way by car, the rest of the way is only accessible by foot as it is on an overhang at the top of the mountain. The path up to the cemetery is very steep and narrow, however it does look as though there used to be stairs of some sort going up there many years ago.
Taulbee Cemetery Shields Harlan County, Kentucky	Located in Shields. Turn left by the old school and walk about 100 yards.
Thirty One Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Located just above 31 camp on the left of the road on Highway 215.
Turner Cemetery Dizney Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at Dizney on Highway 215 in Turner's Creek Branch.
Turner Cemetery North Evarts Harlan County, Kentucky	Located in North Evarts in Naomi Wilson's pasture.
Turner Hill Cemetery Rex, Harlan County, Kentucky	Located at the top of Turner's Hill, go up to the Turner's Church and walk up behind it and there's a road and it will lead you right to the cemetery.
Turner Cemetery Dizney Harlan County, Kentucky
Tway Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	Tway used to be a place. It was a mining camp up in one of the hollers betwen Harlan and the Harlan Appalachian Hospital area (which includes Browing Acres and Sunny Acres). If you are leaving Harlan and going towards the Hospital, it was the first bridge to the right after the Catholic Church. That whole area is now the business section of Harlan, there's a new bridge, the grocery store, hardware store and Wal Mart in that area. The mine has been gone for years!
Wilson Cemetery Smith, Harlan County, Kentucky	located about 14 miles west of Cawood, Kentucky on Highway 987. You have to take a road to your right off 987 up on the Stone mountain for just a short distance. This cemetery cannot be reached by car easily. The rows start at the entrance to the cemetery. It appears to be a family cemetery, and is in fair condition.
Witt Cemetery Holmes Mill Harlan County, Kentucky	Located across the road from the Holmes Mill Post Office.
Wix Howard Cemetery Harlan County, Kentucky	The Wix Howard cemetery was located on top of the mountain where the river was diverted through at Loyall, altho there are a few graves still located on top of the Mountain the bulk of the remains were moved I'm told to the Resthaven cemetery in Keith. The caretaker at Resthaven told me there were 50 or 60 graves still there on the Mountain and if I'm not mistaken he said there were 6000 moved to his cemetery. Per Carl Estes
