AMELIA MOORE was born 1838 in Virginia and died 26 January 1923 in Harlan County, Kentucky. Wife of SYLVANEOUS BREWER. Amelia is my Great Great Great Grandmother, but we don't have any "proof" of her Cherokee Indian lineage other than word of mouth and of course by the way she looks. They lived in an Indian Village in VA and "escaped" the Trail of Tears. I was told by a professor who was researching the same Moore line that they were all massacred in a fight and only few people escaped. We don't know if she took a white man's name or that her mother really had the last name of Moore. Submitted by: Kim Jones Dean
