NANCY WORLEY was Joel Stuart's first wife. She was said to have been part Iroquois. Since they came from North Carolina we assume she was Tuscarawas because that is the only known Iroquois nation in North Carolina. After her death he married a widow Mary Osborn who was Cherokee. My grandmother Mary Margaret Miracle Lewis told my cousin Shirley McAnnally that her grandmother was Iroqois indian. Most people just say they are Cherokee so I think that is pretty good proof that she was Iroquois. Great grandmother and grandmother both had coal black straight hair and were both beautiful women.
