            CARLO “CARR” MIDDLETON, was the Son of WALTER MIDDLETON and SARAH TURNER was born 25 December 1837 in Harlan County, Kentucky, and died 02 December 1902 in Harlan County, Kentucky. He married MARINDA GRAY 12 February 1865 in Lee County, Virginia, daughter of JAMES GRAY and LOUISA PARISH. She was born 15 March 1835 in Lee County, Virginia, and died 03 October 1903 in Harlan County, Kentucky. Carr and Marinda had 7 children. Carr and Marinda are both buried at the Dizney Church of God Cemetery, Dizney, Harlan County, Kentucky. He served as a , Private Company H 64th Virginia Infantry and then again as a Private with Company K 13th Kentucky Cavalry. Submitted by: Kim Jones Dean

            CONFEDERATE KENTUCKY TROOPS 13th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry 13th Cavalry Regiment [also called 10th and 11th Regiment Mounted Infantry] was assembled at Abingdon, Virginia. It was assigned to the Department of East Tennessee and later the Department of Western Virginia and East Tennessee. The unit confronted the Federals in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia, and on April 27, 1865, surrendered at Louisa, Kentucky. The field officers were Colonel Benjamin E. Caudill, Lieutenant Colonel D.J. Caudill, and Major John T. Chenoweth.
