JOHN BENJAMIN(E) CLARK, son of JOHN B CLARK (1848 Virginia, died March 1901, Kentucky) and PERMELA/PERMELIA/AMELIA E BURTON (born 1851 Rockcastle County, Kentucky, died 1896, Kentucky) was born 1879 in Kentucky and died 29 December 1967 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Ben was a coalminer, fought in the Spanish American War and was a member of the improved Order of Red Men and was a conductor for the L&N RR until he retired in 1950. He married ELIZABETH ANN HUGHES on April 1901 in Laurel County, Kentucky. She is the daughter of JOSEPH/JOHN HUGHES and JANE BAXTER of Pittsburg, Kentucky. Elizabeth Hughes was born 1881 in Laurel County Kentucky. Her parents were born in Wales. John Benjamin(e) and Elizabeth Hughes Clark are my grandparents.
