ABBREVIATED VERSION OF ANALYSIS FOR TESTED INDIVIDUALS

Samuel Denny's descendant line (wife Sarah Sudduth) was the first Denny line to be DNA tested since both Richard F. Denney and William L. Denney (creators of the Denny DNA Surname Project) descend from Samuel. Richard descends from Samuel's son Azariah Denny, b before 1755, wife Sarah Felton and William descends from William Denny, b bef 1747, wife Rebecca Hooper (per their pedigree charts).

Since William and Richard match on 42 of 43 markers, they most definitely share a common male Denny ancestor. Thus, the DNA tests are consistent with our pedigree charts back to Samuel Denny (wife Sarah Sudduth).

We now need to test a descendant of another son of Samuel (a DNA test is in progress for this) to determine which set of markers is the modal ancestral value for Samuel (William or Richard's haplotype). Once this is done, all future DNA test comparisons for Samuel's descendants will be made against the modal ancestral haplotype (set of markers). Further DNA testing could pinpoint exactly when and where the DYS389 mutation occurred (if we get enough test candidates from these Denny lines).

RICHARD DENNEY and BILL DENNEY

LARRY LEE DENNEY'S ANALYSIS 3-7-06
The test results analysis of Larry Lee Denney confirms that he is a descendant of Samuel Denny (wife Sarah Suddarth). Richard and Larry Denney's DNA is a perfect match while Larry & William are one marker off.

Prece's DNA test results match the model ancestral value for Samuel Denny's descendant line perfectly (zero mismatches for 43 markers).

PRECE W. "DUB" DENNEY'S ANALYSIS 3/16/06
WILLIAM ROBERT DENNY'S ANALYSIS 3/20/06
William's test results suggest that he shares a common ancestor with Samuel Denny of Surry County, NC, possibly a brother or cousin to Samuel.

Harold Park Denny and Ermon L Denny were the first to be tested from William Denny's descendant line (wife Mary Fleming). Their DNA markers match perfectly except for the fast moving marker DYS449, thus we cannot establish a modal or expected haplotype for William Denny's line based upon Harold and Ermon's tests.

Carl Wayne Denny (descendant of this William Denny) was tested and his Y-DNA Test Results match those of Harold and Ermon, however, again the fast moving marker DYS449 did not match those of Harold and Ermon, thus we still cannot establish a modal or expected haplotype for William Denny's line.

HAROLD "PARK" DENNY AND ERMON L. DENNY DNA TEST ANALYSES - 3/25/06
DELBERT L. DENNEY'S DNA TEST ANALYSES 3/20/06

Delbert L. Denney was Y-DNA tested for Cheryl Hicks. His markers match Samuel Denny's modal haplotype perfectly.

JERRY L. DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSES - 3/25/06
Jerry's test results match the model ancestral value for Samuel Denny descendant line perfectly (zero mismatches for 43 markers).
ARTHUR R. DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSES - 3/25/06
Athur's DNA Test results are only one marker off (DYS 391)from the modal values for Samuel Denny's descendant line.

                                                  RALPH J. DENNEY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS 3/28/06

This is the first DNA test for Charles Denny's descendant line. Ralph's DNA test results match the modal ancestral value for Samuel Denny's descendant line exactly (zero mismatches for 43 markers).

HUGH W. DENNY ANALYSIS 4/06/06
Hugh W. Denny's test results match exactly those of William L. Denney. This may indicate, with further testing of persons from the Zachary Denny line, that Hugh's ancestor, Benjamin Denny b. ca 1750 may have been a son of Samuel Denny.
CARL WILLIAM DENNEY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS 4/06/06
Carl's DNA results matches perfectly the model ancestral value for Samuel Denny's descendant line.

At the present time, we have several testees in the project of which their DNA Test Results do not indicate any ties to others tested. These results will be monitored and compared to other tests as they are received in the project for possible links. In the meantime, those affected (below) should be aggressive through traditional genealogical research in order to establish links to their ancestors. You may also want to follow step 12 of the "STEPS TO JOIN" project and visit Ybase and YSearch and post your results there for possible comparisons.

DNA Test Analysis for Rhea and Russell's Ancestral Lines

RUSSELL K. DENNEY AND RHEA E. DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS- 4/08/06

Based on their DNA test results, Russell K. Denney and Rhea E. Denny both definitely share a common ancestor (they match 100% on all 43 markers). Further traditional genealogy research may develop who that common ancestor may be.

STEVEN L. DENNEY'S's DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 4/12/06

Steven's DNA test results establish this Denny line's modal haplotype. Note that this haplotype is exactly the same as the Samuel Denny (wf Sarah Sudduth) line. This shows that persons in his line share a common ancestor with Samuel Denny.

CARL "WAYNE" DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 5/24/06

Samuel Denny's  (wife Elizabeth Wade) Descendant Lines

MICHAEL DENNEY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 6/26/06

His haplotype matches Samuel Denny's (wf Sarah Sudduth) and Benjamin Denny's (b ca 1750) modal haplotype within one marker on a 37-marker test. This indicates that this Samuel Denny is closely related and has a common ancestor with Samuel Denny (wf Sarah Sudduth) and Benjamin Denny (b ca 1745; possible ancestor, Zachariah Denny).

JOHN ADAIR DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 2/21/07

John's Y-DNA test matches Harold “Park” Denny's haplotype within two markers, indicating a very close relationship with him. Ermon, Harold, Carl, and John all appear to be more closely related to one another (differing by 1-2 markers) than to Don Edward Denny.

DONALD EDWARD DENNY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 10/29/06

Donald's Y-DNA test establishes the William Denny, b 1773 (wife Mary Fleming) as having a common ancestor with William Denny, b ca 1694 and takes this Denny line much further back in time. It also links the prior two tests for Park Denny, Ermon Denny and Wayne Denny to the William Denny, b ca 1694.

WILLIAM DALE DENNEY'S DNA TEST ANALYSIS - 12/11/06

William “Dale” Denney is the second man to be tested from this Denny line. His haplotype matches Samuel Denny's (wf Sarah Sudduth) and Benjamin Denny's (b ca 1750) modal haplotype within one marker on a 43-marker test. Unfortunately, Dale's marker that varies (DYS460) is not that same as Michael A. Denney's. Thus, we still don't have a modal haplotype for Samuel Denny's (b bef 1745) line. More Denny/Denney men from this Samuel's line will have to be tested before a modal haplotype can be established.
