Mrs. Bertha C. Paff Stricken With an Affection of the Heart

Mrs. Bertha C. Paff, wife of John Paff*, a Thirty-fifth street grocer, died yesterday morning very suddenly. She had been ill but a few days and the services of a physician had not been considered necessary. It is believed that she was suffering from some constitutional trouble that affected the heart. She was 36 years of age and was formerly Miss Trune, having been born in Minneapolis. The family has lived in this city about twelve years. She leaves a husband and three children, Gertrude, aged 18; Herman, aged 17, and Josie, aged 14. Mrs. Paff has been considered one of the most influential women of her neighborhood.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Roberts' undertaking parlors and the interment will be in the Oakwood cemetary.

*There is no question that this is the correct Bertha Paff, but somehow the paper got the name of the husband as "John" instead of "William". Also, it says she was born in Minneapolis, which must be where she grew up but was actually born in Germany.
