On December 18,1861, six sons of Ebenezer and Lurena were musterd intoservice to fight for the North in the Civil War. They were all in CompanyF 58th Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry Volunteers. The sons were David,James, George, Philander, Hiram and Eli. One can only imagine the mixtureof fear, pride and foreboding these elderly parents must have felt, watching their six sons leave to fight in this horrible war. Little didthey know that only the oldest, David and youngest, Eli would return.
