Lenora Jane Seales
In addition to her years of work as an administrator at Stillwater Nursing Home and
Certified Professional Service, Lenora Jane (Swisher) Seales was an accomplished crafts
designer who enjoyed making clothes for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Seales, 60, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1995, at Stillwater Medical Center. Services will
be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with Phyllis Brown
officiating. Interment will take place at the Lanier Cemetery northeast of Stillwater under
the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Randy, Danny and Mickey
Wick, Mike and Kevin Waltman, Allen Brown and Ryan Vanchieri. Memorials may be made to the
Christi Goeringer Johnston Scholarship Fund, c/o Elks Lodge No. 1859, P.O. Box 831, Stillwater,
OK 74076.
Mrs. Seales was born March 8, 1935, in Noble County to O.J. and Ida (Madison) Swisher.
She attended Oak Hill Grade School in Noble County and Eureka High School east of Stillwater.
After her education, she was employed at Douglas Big Country Store. She later became the
administrator for Stillwater Nursing Home, where she worked for a number of years. On Aug. 8,
1982, she married John Seales in Hugo. After the couple's marriage, she became the office
manager at Certified Professional Services, retiring in 1993. She attended Victory Christian
Church and was a member of the Lady Elks.
Mrs. Seales was predeceased by two daughters, Susan E. Cobb and Katherine I. Flores; three
grand-daughters; and one grandson. Survivors include her husband, John, of the home; six sons
and daughters-in-law, Terry D. and Charlotte Langley of Edmond, Gary R. and Debbie Langley of
Marlow, Johnnie E. and Deana Devine Jr., Kelly E. and Renda Devine and Randy L. and Argel
Seales, all of Stillwater, and Johnny M. and Susan Seales of Ponca city; and two daughters
and sons-in-law, J. Michelle and Joel Seales and Shawna R. and David Lyons, all of Stillwater.
Mrs. Seales is also survived by three brothers, J.D. Swisher of Grand Junction, Colo., Ronald R.
Swisher of Tulsa and Harold Dwight Swisher of Stillwater; six sisters, Carol Conway and Barbara
White, both of Stillwater, Clara Langley of Ponca City, Wanda Mertz of Casper,
Wyo., Ruth Elgin of Midwest city and Sallie Brown of Garland, Texas; and 18 grandchildren.
