He was born during his parents’ sojourn in Holland, and arrived in America with them and his younger brother Wrestling on the
Mayflower in 1620. Accordng to the Brewster Genealogy,
19, p. 27 Love Brewster was admitted a freeman of Plymouth Colony 2 March 1635/36, and he early moved to Duxbury with his father’s family. In the division of his father’s estate, Love received the Brewster house, where he raised his own family. In 1637 he was among those from Plymouth who volunteered to serve in the Pequot War, and he was a member of Captain Myles Standish’s Duxbury Company in the military enrollment of 1643. He was a grand juryman from Duxbury in 1643, and in 1645 he was one of the proprietors of the extension to Duxbury, afterward known as Bridgewater.
Love Brewster’s will is dated 6 October 1650, and the inventory of his estate was made in January 1650/51. These documents are available in the Brewster Genealogy.
