In June of this year we visited the Salisbury Cemetery with Dr. Robert Perry and Jim Spencer.  We found it a long hard pathless climb to the top of the ridge.  A large tree had fallen.  Only 1 stone was found.

Another discrepancy was found.  The tombstone states that William Salisbury died in 1860.  His will was probated in August 1857 with son Lackey petitioning the court to be the executor as one was not named.  The stone was erected by The New Salem Association in his memory, date unknown.  The inscription reads:

Elder William Salisbury
1783 - 1860
and his wife
Lizzie (Walker) Salisbury
Sleep Here

He was a humble and devoted minister
for over fifty Years.
Moderator of the Burning Springs and
New Salem Associations for many years.
