| I am researching the Silas GRANT family. Silas Grant was born 1832 in Marengo County, Alabama in the Demopolis area. By the 1880 census, he was living in Lowndes County, Mississippi in the town of Crawford. His children married in Lowndes County and moved to Walker County, Alabama in the town of Carbon Hill to work in the coal mines.
