HELEN DOROTHY JACOBSON, the youngest of the Jacobson siblings, was born January 13, 1922 in Canada.

Helen's brother Carl had a daughter named after her as she was his favorite sister. Her name is Helen Leona (Leona after Carl's favorite brother who died at an early age) Leamey.

Helen Leona remembers when she was a small child, Helen Dorothy came to live with Carl and his wife Grace in San Jose, California. Helen Leona understood that when a child in Canada reached 16 years, school was over and the child had to find work. Helen Dorothy wanted to further her education, so Carl invited her to stay in California with his family. Helen Dorothy's sister Ella also did the same, but it's not clear if she stayed with brother Carl.

Michael and Grady VanDyke, who married Helen's sister Ella, were pals in Yukon while serving in the Army.
