First Generation

 

      1. John Frost .

 

John Frost of Kent, England, who was a palace guard, married Lady Myra Latter.  By marrying a

commoner, she forfeited her position.  With their sons, Edward - 13 and John - 12, they decided to come

to America.  However she became ill and died in England.  He and the boys came anyway.

Edward described the crossing as very rough, taking 13 weeks.  Time after time they encountered storms

which drove them back toward England.  John suffered a broken arm in a fall aboard ship.

Arriving here, they settled in Ohio near a brother who had come over earlier.  Edward married in Ohio and

had one son, Eugene.  He separated from his wife and joined the army.  After a year, he settled near

Brant, NY.  John went from Ohio to Denver, Colorado.  He and some of his family visited Edward in

Forestville, NY after being separated for 35 years.  Frosts known to be in northern Penn., are thought by

us to be descendants of Eugene, Edwards son by his first wife.

Edward married (2) Eliza Percy daughter of Willam Percy and Fanny in 1862/1864. Eliza was born before 1849. She died on 14 May 1912 in Hanover, Chautauqua Co., NY, USA. She was buried in sec. 4, lot 222, Prospect Street Cemetery, Hanover, NY, USA.
