1. DANIEL LAUS was born between 1615 and 1622 in Ernst; " synodale from 1684-1702. A Gerichteschoffe in 1689 and a schoffe in 1702.". He married Anna, the widow of Michael Ningel. The record shows a weibl? born Nov 8 and baptized on Novemeber 11, 1682. The Godparents were Joannes Arens, summae aedis travirensis altarista, and Gertrude, wife of Heinrich Friderici, praetor (magistrate) in Brutting. He died on 2 February 1702 in Treis.

ANNA was born before 1627. She married Michael NINGEL, the son of Joannes NINGEL. They had two children, Amelia and Carl. She was listed as the widow of Michael Ningel on the marriage record. She died on 11 January 1717 in Treis.

2. ANDREAS LAUS (Daniel) was baptized on 23 November 1643 in St. Johannes. On Feb. 21, 1683, he was a Godfather for Andreas Arens, the son of Joannes George Arens and Anna Conrath. He was a Godfather on May 11, 1689 for Andreas Laus, the son of Joannes Anton Laus and Anna Catharina (Clara) (?). He was a Godfather on Oct. 19, 1698 for Agnes Lies, the daughter of Sebastian Lies and Anna Maria Laus. He married Anna Katharina (-?-) before 1663. He died on 14 July 1699 in Treis at age 55. ANNA KATHARINA was born between 1640 and 1650 in Pommern. Anna was a Godmother on Nov. 17, 1686 for Anna Catharina Muntnich, the daughter of Michael Muntnich and Anna Simonis. She died on 13 March 1708 in Treis; "sie stirbt ohne Sterbesak ramenta, weil Sebastian Lies den Pastor nicht rufen wollte.". (She died without the last rites because the pastor was not called by her son-in-law, Sebastian Lies?)

SEBASTIAN LIES was born between 1650 and 1662 in the Mosel River area of Rhineland, probably in Moselkern. (FHL#0585929) He was a Godfather on Aug. 23, 1682 for Sebastian Castor, the son of Wilhelm Castor and Anna. (This record shows he was the son of Joannes Lies.) He was a Godfather on Feb. 12, 1702 for Anna Laus, the daughter of Nikolaus Laus and Christina Schelbartz. He died on 25 February 1732 in Treis.

6. NIKOLAUS LAUS (Andreas ) was baptized on 31 March 1669 in St. Joannes. The birth date is from his obituary record. Nikolaus was a Godfather on Sept. 23, 1691 for Anna Maria Lies, the daughter of Sebastian Lies and Anna Maria Laus. He was a Godfather on Aug. 24, 1702 for Margaretha Laus, the daughter of Joannes Anton Laus and Anna Catharina (Clara). He married Christina SCHELBARTZ, daughter of Theodore SCHELBARTZ and Anna CONEN, on 6 September 1696 in St. Johannes. The marriage record shows she was from Pommern. He died on 12 January 1717 in Treis at age 47. He was a consul in 1703. The death record for his son shows the family was from Pommern. CHRISTINA SCHELBARTZ was baptized on 21 January 1674 in Pommern, Cochem, Rhineland. She was a Godmother for Christina Muller, the daughter of Anton Muller and Barbara Laus. The record refers to her as Christina, wife of Nicolaus Laus. She was a Godmother on June 20, 1717 for Christina Arens, the daughter of Peter Arens and Maria Margaretha Dederichs. She died on 3 March 1726 in Treis at age 52.

He died on 21 January 1848 in Treis at age 30.

He married Barbara HOLZKNECHT, daughter of Peter HOLZKNECHT and Luzia BACTD, on 25 August 1868 in Bruttig. They received a special dispensation to marry. He died in 1877 in Oberhausen.

He was a Godfather on May 19, 1851 for Herman Steffes, the son of Joannes George Steffes and Margaret Gobel. He was a Godfather on July 31, 1861 for Herman Jospeh Konrath at St. Peter's in Slinger, Wisconsin. He married Anna Elisabeth KONRATH, daughter of Herman CONRATH and Anna Elisabetha KOMP, on 10 February 1852 in Treis. Their marriage record shows they received a dispensation on January 30, 1852. Dispensation 'super impedimento consanquinitatis quarti gradus tertii mixto dispensati'. On February 10, 1853, they sold their property in Treis and again on January 2, 1854. Source: Land records in Rommelsdorf, Germany. Herman appeared in the 1855 census for Milwaukee in the 2nd Ward, P. 68. He appeared in the 1860 census, page 104 - same location. He was buried in 1863 in Calvary Cemetery, Milwaukee. Tombstone reads: Herman Laus 1826-1863. He died in 1863 in Milwaukee.

ANNA ELISABETH KONRATH was baptized on 29 March 1829 in St. Johannes. Her Godparents were Elizabeth Horitz and Joseph Komp. She married Jacob BEYER after 1863. She died in Milwaukee. Buried at Calvary Cemetery.

The only known child of Herman LAUS and Anna Elisabeth KONRATH was:

She married Franciscus Hubert CLAUS, son of Heinrich CLAUS and Barbara THIELMANN, on 3 March 1829 in St. Johannes, Treis. FRANCISCUS HUBERT CLAUS was baptized on 27 August 1796 in St. Johannes, Fankel. He was a cooper. (wine barrel maker). He died on 1 November 1852 in Treis at age 56.

He married Anna Maria GRAEF, daughter of Joannes GRAEF and Susanne SERGER, on 21 July 1840 in St. Johannes. *Note: The Treis records show that a Matthias Joseph Spies went to America with his wife and six children after 1847.

216. MARIA MARGARETHA MUNTNICH (Anton, Anna Catharina Elisabetha LAUS) was baptized on 14 November 1804 in St. Johannes, Treis. Her Godparents were Maria Margaret Castor and Anton Muntenich. She married Joannes PILLIG, son of Jacob PILLIG and Anna Catharina SIMONIS, on 22 August 1829 in St. Johannes, Treis. Their marriage record shows, Joannes, son of Jacobi and Anna Catharina Simonis, and Margaretha, daughter of Antoni and Margarethe Stump. JOANNES PILLIG was baptized on 19 June 1805 in St. Johannes, Treis. His Godparents were Joannes Muntnich and Maria Elisabeth Pillig. Note: There were no further records for this family, a Johann Pillig went to America with his wife and three children.

JOANNES KOMP was baptized on 8 January 1808 in Treis. He worked in the vineyards. He married Catharina Conrath, daughter of Matthias Conrad and Walburgae HENSELER, on 21 May 1849 in St. Johannes. He died on 31 December 1877 in Treis at age 69. He was buried on 1 January 1878 in Treis Cemetery.

JOANNES RING was baptized on 21 December 1794 in St. Johannes, Treis. His Godparents were Joannes Steffes and Anna Maria Steffes. He died on 10 January 1853 in Treis at age 58.

ANNA MARIA RITTER was born on 6 January 1834 baptized on 6 January 1834 in St. Johannes.
