I compiled this list of past and present towns of Defiance County, Ohio, with the help of two aids: the GNIS server and a roadmap.
  • Arrowsmiths (historical), Farmer twp. Also called Arrowsmith's. I know that it was a Post Office in 1860, but I'm not quite sure where exactly it was.
  • Ashwood (historical) Defiance twp. Was near the intersection of Ashwood Rd. and the Defiance-Paulding County Line Rd.
  • Ayersville, Highland twp. Is located at the intersection of Defiance Ayersville Pleasant Bend Rd. and Watson Rd.
  • Brunersburg, Noble twp. is located near the intersection of Hwy 18 and Haller St., northwest of Defiance.
  • Cicero (historical), Hicksville twp./Mark twp. border. Was located near the intersection of Cicero Rd. and Huber Rd.
  • Clarksville (historical), Milford twp. Also called Panama. Was located near the intersection of Williams-Defiance County Line Rd. and Casebeer Miller Rd.
  • Defiance, Defiance twp. Former and variant names have been: Au Glaize, Ensawacosa, Fort Defiance, Fort Miamis, Fort Winchester, Grand Glaize, Miami Fort, Miamis Fort, Tuendawie, Twendiawie, and Winchester.
  • Delaware Bend, Delaware twp. Also called The Bend; variant name is Delaware. It is located on The Bend Rd., south of Hwy 15, near the railroad tracks.
  • Domersville (historical), Adams twp. Was near the intersection of Domersville Rd. and Coressel Rd.
  • Evansport, Tiffin twp. Is located on Evansport Rd., just south of the Williams county border.
  • Farmer Center, Farmer twp. Also called Farmer, Farmer Centre, and Farmers Centre. Is located at the intersection of Hwys 2 and 249.
  • Glenburg (historical), Washington twp./Tiffin twp. border. Was on Glenburg Rd., just south of Williams county.
  • Hicksville, Hicksville twp. Established 1836. Is located at the intersection of Hwys 2, 49, and 18.
  • Independence, Richland twp. Variant/former name: Milldale. Is located on Hwy 424 east of Defiance.
  • Jewell, Richland twp. Is located just south of Hwy 24, east of Defiance, at the intersection of Jewell Rd. and Independence Rd.
  • Lawtonville (historical), Milford twp. Was located near the intersection of Casebeer Miller Rd. and Seevers Rd., just north of Willow Run creek.
  • Logan, Milford twp. Is located at the intersection of Arrowsmith Rd. and Hwy 49.
  • Mark Center, Mark twp. Variant name: Mark Centre. Is just south of Hwy 18 on Farmer-Mark Rd.
  • Marysdale, Washington twp./Tiffin twp. border. This one isn't listed on the GNIS server or on the roadmap, but it's a small cluster of houses near my Grandma's church (Marysdale Immaculate Conception). The last time we drove through there on Glenburg Rd. just north of Hwy 15, there was a little sign that said "Marysdale," and my mom told me that people who live there were starting to call the area Marysdale.
  • McCauleys (historical), Tiffin twp. Variant name: McCauley's. It is unknown where this was.
  • Midway (historical), Richland twp. Was near the intersection of Harris Rd. and the railroad tracks.
  • Millport (historical), Milford twp. Was located on the St. Joseph river.
  • Moats, Delaware twp. Variant names: Drake, Drake Station, Molts. Is located near the intersection of Mud Creek Rd. and The Bend Rd. To be honest, I'm not actually sure this is a real town. I've driven by there hundreds of times... there are maybe 5 houses around there. There is the Moats cemetery, but not much else there but fields and trees.
  • Nebo (historical), Mark twp. Was located south of Mark Center.
  • Ney, Washington twp. Former name: Georgetown. Is locaetd at the intersection of Hwys 15 and 249.
  • Oakland (historical), Adams twp. Was located near Hwy 24 and the Henry county border.
  • Rosedale, Hicksville twp./Mark twp. border. Is located on Rosedale Rd., just south of Hwy 18.
  • Sherwood, Delaware twp. Is located at the intersection of Hwys 127 and 18.
  • Six Corners, Hicksville twp. Is located at the intersection of Hwy 2, Cicero Rd., and Buckskin Rd. I'm also not sure this one is a real town. It's definitely a cemetery. But I've been by there, and I don't remember seeing anything like a town.
  • Snooksville (historical). This was a Post Office in 1860, but I can't remember which township it was in. I'll have to check.
  • Southerton, Highland twp. Is located near the intersection of Hwy 15 and Mansfield Rd.
  • St. Michael's Ridge, Adams twp. Also called Adams Ridge. Located at the intersection of Moser Rd. and Behrens Rd.
  • Whites Mills (historical), Delaware twp. Variant names: White's, White's Mills, Whites. Not sure where exactly it was.
  • Williamstown, Defiance twp. Variant name: Williamsport. The GNIS server shows this place within the city limits of Defiance. I haven't heard of it, so I'm not sure what to think of it.
  • Wilseyville (historical), Farmer twp. Was located near the intersection of Hwy 2 and Blosser Rd.
