INDEX TO SURNAMES The Daviess County Democrat Vol. 17, No. 10. Saturday, January 24, 1884 ****************************************************************************** THIS FILE IS THE PROPERTY OF KELLY J. OLIVER, ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL. ALTHOUGH THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS FILE IS PUBLIC AND NOT UNDER COPYRIGHT, THE PRESENTATION OF THIS INDEX IN THIS FORMAT REPRESENTS MANY HOURS OF TIME AND EFFORT PLUS PERSONAL EXPENSE. YOU MAY NOT REPRODUCE, FOR PROFIT OR OTHERWISE, ANY PORTION OF THIS FILE WITHOUT PERMISSION. FOR PERMISSION TO REPRINT SMALL SECTIONS, WRITE TO KELJEANNE@AOL.COM. You may NOT copy this index and put it on your web site or in any books or publications. You MAY, however, link to this page from your web site. If you don't know how to do that, ask me. Do a "Search in Page" in your browser to find the name you're looking for. Try searching by only last name at first. For example, Francis A. Ward is listed as Francis A. Ward, F. A. Ward, and Sheriff Ward. You'll find all of those listings if you search only for "Ward." Also, first names are often abbreviated (I left the abbreviations as they are in the newspaper) -- Wm for William, Geo for George, etc. First names are also often reduced to initials. If you find someone (or several people) you're looking for, I encourage you to read /The Daviess County Democrat/ for the entire story. These old newspapers are treasures. /The Daviess County Democrat/ is available on microfilm in the Carnegie Library in Washington, IN, and in the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis, IN. I also own the microfilm. If you don't live near Indiana, write to me (at keljeanne@aol.com), and I'll tell you what one article says. I'll even send you a photocopy of the newspaper article if you ask really nicely. TELL ME THE DATE, NAME OF THE PERSON, NAME OF THE ARTICLE, AND PAGE NUMBER. If you leave out any of that information, I won't be able to find what you're looking for. Please write to me (keljeanne@aol.com) if you have any questions. Thanks! ***************************************************************************** The Daviess County Democrat Vol. 17, No. 10.
