Samuel Jones b. ca 1760-65 Wales d. Jun 1824
He entered 50acres on Beaver Creek, Grayson County, VA Aug 1793(Book A, page 2) He must have lived near Enoch Osborne who was ordered to appraise his estate on 17Jun 1824. William and Stephen Jones were executors of the estate.
Samuel is buried in Mouth of Wilson, Grayson Co., Virginia. Talked by phone (9/29/04) to James Madison Gilley, son of Isaiah Tilden Gilley and gr-gr grandson of Samuel. He told me that Samuel died along the road on a trip from Wise Co., Virginia to Grayson Co., Virginia and was buried along side the road close to where he died.

abt 1826 - Mary (Polly) married Absalom Hobbs Jr, who was born October 06, 1806.

1830 census

abt 1831 - daughter Mary (Polly) married Absalom Hobbs, who was born October 06, 1806. There can be some confusion when researching this family because Absalom's father, also named Absalom, married twice. His first wife, Susan Helvy, is the mother of Absalom Jr and six other children. Absalom Sr then married second wife Mary Ann Olinger, in 1825 and had 7 more children, so Absalom Sr and Mary Olinger Hobbs were having children during the same period of time in Lee Co., Virginia as his son Abasalom Jr and Mary Jones Hobbs were. Also five children from Absalom Sr's first marriage and three from the second marriage all emigrated from Virginia to Tipton Co., Indiana, and they lived near each other.
