Thompson married Evalina Jones on August 10, 1843 in Lawrence Co., OH and they
had 10 children. The family is listed on the 1850 census Symms Twp, Lawrence
Co., OH. Based on birth places of their children, they lived in Ohio until about
1854 when they began a series of moves. They had a child in Missouri in 1855 and
a child in Texas in 1859. They are listed on the 1860 census of Easton Twp., Leavenworth,
KS, and they had a child in Kansas in 1863. They settled in Nebraska by 1866,
and they are listed on the 1870 & 1880 censuses of Beatrice, Gage Co., NE.
Martin William Thompson died on April 30, 1892 in Leadville, Lake Co., Colorado.
He was shot while participating in the Colorado gold rush. His body was returned
to Nebraska for burial. Evalina Jones Thompson died on April 17, 1894 in Gage
Co., NE. They are both buried in the Dolen Cemetery, Gage Co., NE. |

| Foster Thompson | Foster M. Thompson was born April 08, 1844 in
OH. He is living with his parents at age 7 on the 1850 census of Symms Twp,
Lawrence Co., OH. His parents moved to Missouri by the time he was age 11, and
to Texas by the time he was age 16. They then moved to Missouri, and he is listed
with them at age 17 on the 1860 census of Easton Twp., Leavenworth, KS. In 1860
Foster was a pony express rider out of St. Joseph's, MO. Foster was killed when

December 17, 1845 in OH. She is living with her parents at age 5 on the 1850
census of Symms Twp, Lawrence Co., OH. Her parents moved to Missouri by the time
she was age 10, and to Texas by the time she was age 14. They then moved to Kansas,
and she is listed with them at age 15 on the 1860 census of Easton Twp., Leavenworth,
KS. Elizabeth married Benjamin F. Hurst on Jan.1, 1863 in Platte Co., MO,
and they had 9 children. Based on birthplaces of their children, they were in
Nebraska in 1866, and in Missouri in 1867 & 1869. The family is listed on
the 1870 census Jackson Twp., Andrew Co., MO. Based on birthplaces of their children
they were in Missouri in 1872 & 1874, but had moved to Page Co., Iowa by September
1880. They are listed on the 1880 census of Shenandoah, Page Co., Iowa. Based
on birthplaces of their children, they were in Page Co., Iowa in 1880 & 1884,
and they are listed on the 1885 state census of Grant, Shenandoah, Page Co., Iowa.
They moved to Nebraska by 1888. Benjamin died sometime between 1888 to 1900, and
at some point before or after his death Elizabeth moved to Colorado. She is listed
as widowed with the 3 youngest children on the 1900 census of Denver, Arapahoe
Co, CO. Elizabeth was married about 1904 to William Miles, probably in
Denver, Denver Co., CO. William & Elizabeth are listed on the 1910, 1920 &
1930 censuses of Denver, Denver Co., CO. In 1900 Elizabeth is listed as having
7 births with 7 surviving children, and in 1910 she is listed as having 6 births
with 6 surviving children. Elizabeth Jane Thompson Hurst Miles died sometime

| Amanda Thompson | Amanda Caroline Thompson was born May 15, 1849
in OH She is living with her parents at age 1 on the 1850 census of Symms
Twp, Lawrence Co., OH. Her parents moved to Missouri by the time she was 6, and
to Texas by the time she was age 10. They then moved to Kansas, and she is listed
with them at age 11 on the 1860 census of Easton Twp., Leavenworth, KS. She is
listed with her parents at age 21 on the 1870 census of Beatrice, Gage Co., NE.
Amanda married John Minor Joyce on September 18, 1870 in Gage Co., NE,
and they had 6 children. They had two sons born in NE in 1872 & 1873, but
they moved to Iowa sometime before 1880. They are listed on the 1880 census of
Jackson, Benton Co., IA. They had a child in South Dakota in 1885, but moved to
Nebraska in 1896. They are listed on the 1900 & 1910 census of DeWitt, Saline
Co., NE. On both the 1900 & 1910 census Amanda is listed as having 6 births
with 4 surviving children. John died in September 08, 1916. Amanda is listed as
widowed on the 1920 census, living with married son George & by married son
Fay. Amanda Caroline Thompson Joyce died on August 22, 1924 in DeWitt, Saline

| Mary Thompson | Mary Elizabeth Thompson was born
May 16, 1853 in OH. Her parents moved to Missouri by the time she was 2, and
to Texas by the time she was age 6. She is listed with her parents at age 7 on
the 1860 census of Easton Twp., Leavenworth, KS. The family moved to Nebraska
when she was about age 13, and she is listed with them at age 17 on the 1870 census
of Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. Mary married Edward Dolen on May 05, 1878 in
Gage Co., NE and they had two sons, one of whom died before the age of 20. The
family is listed on the 1880 & 1900 censuses of Blakely, Gage Co., NE. Mary
Elizabeth Thompson Dolen died on October 5, 1904, probably in Blakely, Gage Co.,
NE. Her husband Edward is listed as widowed on the 1910 census of Blakely,
Gage Co., NE. Edward died on January 13, 1937. Edward & Mary are both buried

| Evalina "Eva" Thompson | Evalina "Eva"
Thompson was born September 20, 1855 in MO. Her parents moved to Texas by
the time she was age 3. She is listed with her parents at age 4 on the 1860 census
of Easton Twp., Leavenworth, KS. The family moved to Nebraska when she was about
age 11, and she is listed with them at age 14 on the 1870 census of Beatrice,
Gage Co., NE. On the 1880 census of Beatrice, Gage Co., NE, Eva is listed at age
24 as a servant in the household of William K. Ashby. Evalina married Francis
"Frank" Marion Jones about 1881 in Nebraska. Frank & Eva were
first cousins, as Frank's father Samuel & Eva's mother Evaline were siblings,
both children of William Jones & Jane.
Frank & Eva had at least 4 children. Frank died sometime between 1888 to 1900,
and Eva is living in Beatrice and listed as age 44 and widowed on the 1900 census.
She moved from Nebraska to Idaho sometime between 1900 to 1910, and she is listed
on the 1910 census of Gooding, Lincoln Co., Idaho. At that time she is listed
as having 4 births and 4 surviving children, although only 3 are living with her
at the time. Eva moved from Idaho to Colorado between 1910 to 1920. She is listed
on the 1920 census of Denver, Denver Co., CO listed as a servant in the household
of Alex K. Marr from Scotland. An article on May 4, 1922 in the DeWitt (Nebraska)
Times-News states that "Mrs. Jones, Gooding, Idaho was visiting her sisters:
Mrs. E. Rossiter, Mrs. J.M. Joyce and Mrs. James Reed. She was an early resident
of Beatrice". I'm not sure why she was listed in the article as being from
Idaho in 1922, unless she returned there for a short time. Warren Reid's book
lists Eva living in Denver, Colorado in 1926. I have not found Eva on the 1930
census at this time. Evalina "Eva" Thompson Jones died sometime after

| John Thompson | John Flemin Thompson was born about
1859 in TX. His parents moved to Kansas when he was about age 1, and he is
listed with them at age 2 on the 1860 census Easton Twp., Leavenworth, KS. His
parents moved to Nebraska when he was about age 8, and he is listed with them
at age 11 on the 1870 census and at age 21 on the 1880 census, both in Beatrice,
Gage Co., Nebraska. John married Mary Elizabeth Reid on March 23, 1883
in Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. (Mary was the daughter of William
Reid & Catharine Eells. Her brother James M. Reid married John's younger
sister Osta Thompson in 1884.) "Flem" & Mary are listed on the 1885
state census of Blakely, Gage Co., NE. They moved from Nebraska to Kansas sometime
between 1885 to 1897. John & Mary had 2 sons. The family is listed on the
1900 census of Kapioma, Atchison Co., KS. They are listed on the 1905 & 1910
census of Grashopper Twp., Atchision Co,. KS. They are listed on the 1920 &
1930 censuses of Kapioma, Atchison Co., KS. John Flemin Thompson died after
1930, probably in Atchison Co., KS. Mary died on June 6, 1944 at the home
of their son Elmo in Muscotah, Atchison Co., KS. John & Mary are both buried

| Pluma Thompson | Pluma A. Thompson was born on April
03, 1863 in KS. Her parents moved to Nebraska by the time she was age 3. Pluma
is listed at age 7 with her parents on the 1870 census and at age 17 with her
parents on the 1880 census, both in Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. Pluma married Edgar
Rossiter on January 31, 1883 and they had 4 children. The family is listed
on the 1900, 1910 & 1920 censuses of DeWitt, Saline Co., NE. In 1910 Edgar
is listed as being a Butcher in his own shop. Edgar died on April 16, 1926, and
Pluma is listed as widowed on the 1930 census of DeWitt, Saline Co., NE. Pluma
A. Thompson Rossiter died on November 24, 1949, probably in DeWitt, Saline Co.,

| Osta Thompson | Osta Emmer Thompson was born on October 27,
1866 in Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. She is listed at age 3 with her parents on
the 1870 census and at age 13 with her parents on the 1880 census, both in Beatrice,
Gage Co., NE. Osta married James Madison Reid on December 25, 1884 Gage
Co., NE and they had 11 children. James was the son of William
Reid & Catharine Eells; his sister Mary also married Osta's brother John
the same year. James M. Reid is listed in the 1885 Nebraska State Atlas as follows:
"James M. Reed S. 5, Beatrice T., North; 120 a., pur. in 1878; est. val.,
$50 per a. Breeder Fine Horses, Duroc, Gold Dust, Black Hawk, Morgan. P.O. Beatrice".
Based on birthplaces of their children, the family was in NE until 1893, but then
was in Kansas from about 1894 to about 1899. They then returned to Nebraska, and
are listed on the 1900 census of Blakely, Gage Co., NE. They moved to Saline Co.,
NE between 1900 to 1910, and are listed on the 1910 & 1920 censuses of Swanton,
Saline Co., NE. They are on the 1930 census of DeWitt, Saline Co., NE. James died
on January 14, 1940 in DeWitt. Osta Emmer Thompson Reid died on February 13,
