P.O. Beatrice". Based on birthplaces of their children, the family was in
NE until 1893, but then was in Kansas from about 1894 to about 1899. They then
returned to Nebraska, and are listed on the 1900 census of Blakely, Gage Co.,
NE. They moved to Saline Co., NE between 1900 to 1910, and are listed on the 1910
& 1920 censuses of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. They are on the 1930 census of
DeWitt, Saline Co., NE. James M. Reid died on Jan.14, 1940 in DeWitt, Saline
Co., NE. Osta Thompson Reid died on Feb.13, 1950 in Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. |

Hoag, Gage Co., NE. She is listed with her parents on the 1900 census of Blakely,
Gage Co., NE. Myrl married Larence Melvin Wilson in 1907, and they had
6 children. I have not found the family on the 1910 census at this time. The family
is listed on the 1920 census of Blakely Twp., Gage Co., NE. In 1920 Edward Dolen
is living with them - he is the widower of Mary Elizabeth Thompson, who was sister
of Myrl's mother Osta Thompson. The family is listed on the 1930 census of Beatrice,
Gage Co., NE. Larence's occupation is listed as farmer. Myrl Alice Reid Wilson

in Hoag, Gage Co., NE. She is listed with her parents on the 1900 census of
Blakely, Gage Co., NE. Hattie married Joseph Wesley McArtor on December
18, 1907 and they had 4 children. They are listed on the 1910 census of Hanover
Twp., Gage Co., NE. Some time between 1910 to 1920 the family moved from Gage
Co., NE to Saline Co., NE. They are listed on the 1920 & 1930 censuses of
Swan Creek, Saline Co., NE. Joseph's occupation was listed as farmer. Hattie

1889 in Hoag, Gage Co., NE. He is listed with his parents on the 1900 census
in Blakely, Gage Co., NE and on the 1910 census of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. Flem
married Ada Phillips on June 06, 1914 and they had 2 sons. The family is

in Hoag, Gage Co., NE. He is listed with his parents on the 1900 census in

Pearl Elsie Garrett on February 16, 1917, and they had 3 children. The

 | 5. Gearl Reid | James Gearl Reid was born on December 15,
1893 in NE. He is listed with his parents on the 1900 census in Blakely, Gage
Co., NE and on the 1910 & 1920 censuses of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. Gearl
married Mildred Avis Thomas on February 15, 1921 in Beatrice, Gage Co.,
NE and they had 4 children. Gearl served in the Navy in WWI. After the war he
farmed in Saline Co., NE. The family is listed on the 1930 census of Swan Creek
Pct, Swanton, Saline Co., NE. In 1938 the family moved to Gage Co., NE, and in
1944 they moved to Pharr, TX. James Gearl Reid died on April 17, 1964 in Alvin,
Brazoria Co., Texas. At the time of his death he was visiting his daughter
who lived there. Gearl & Mildred are buried in the Evergreen Home Cemetery,
Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. Gearl's son Warren Reid has done a great deal of research
on the Reid family history, and has written a book. Much of the information I

 | 6. Ed Reid | Edward Dolan Reid was born on December 02, 1895
in Republic Co., Kansas. He is listed with his parents on the 1900 census
in Blakely, Gage Co., NE and on the 1910 & 1920 censuses of Swanton, Saline
Co., NE. Edward married Velma Carrie in 1926. He farmed his fathers farm until
1929 then moved to Denver to run a feed and fur pelt business and attended a barber
school. Following a separation and divorce from Velma, Ed sold electrical appliances
in a Cozad, Neb store. There is an Edward Reid, age 34 on the 1930 census of Omaha,
Douglas Co., NE that may be him. This Edward was age 34, divorced, occupation
Department Store salesman. At some point Edward moved to Lima, Ohio where he worked
at the Elks Club, for a number of years prior to his retirement. Edward Dolan
Reid died on January 11, 1972 in Wilbur, Saline Co., NE. He is buried in the

 | 7. Dale Reid | Dale Wallace Reid was born on August 03, 1898
in Republic Co., Kansas. He is listed with his parents on the 1900 census
in Blakely, Gage Co., NE and on the 1910 & 1920 censuses of Swanton, Saline
Co., NE. When Dale filled out his WWI Registration card on Sept. 12, 1918, he
was age 20, and working as a self-employed farmer in Swanton, Saline, Nebraska.
At that time he was 69" tall, medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Dale married Lauretta Ladner on Aug. 11, 1921, and they had 2 sons. The
family is listed on the 1930 census of Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE with Dale's
occupation listed as plumber. Dale owned and operated a home plumbing business
for many years in Lincoln and Beatrice. During World War II, Dale worked for a
service firm at the ammunition Depot, Hastings, NE., and for a second company
at an Air Base near Alliance, NE. Dale Wallace Reid died on October 23, 1970

 | 8. Evelyn Reid | Evelyn Reid Reid was born on February 02, 1901
in Hoag, Gage Co., NE. She is listed with her parents on the 1910 & 1920
censuses of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. Evelyn married George Ezra Jewell
on February 02, 1922 in Marysville, KS and they had 2 sons. They are listed on
the 1930 census of Lincoln, Lancaster, NE. At that time Evelyn's sister Lucille
was also living with them. George died on December 26, 1935; around that time
Evelyn moved to DeWitt, Saline Co., NE where she worked in DeWitt for Carl Niemeyer

 | 9. Ruth Reid | Ruth LaVerne Reid was born on May
20, 1903 in Swanton, Saline Co., NE. She is listed with her parents on the
1910 & 1920 censuses of Swanton, Saline Co., NE, and on the 1930 census of
DeWitt, Saline Co., NE. Ruth married Ira Preston Pfeifer on December 29,
1931 in DeWitt and they had 2 children. They divorced by 1944 when he remarried
Eleanor Ring. Ruth was a schoolteacher in Swanton, Nebraska when she was young.
She also worked for a federal agricultural department and Gold's Department store.
Then she worked for Safeway for over 25 years. Ruth Reid Pfeifer died on December

 | 10. Lucille Reid | Lucille Irene Reid was born on August 08,
1905 in NE. She is listed with her parents on the 1910 & 1920 censuses
of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. She is listed as "Lucille I. Reid, sister-in-law,
age 24" on the 1930 census of Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE living in the household
of George & Evelyn (Reid) Jewell. Lucille married Olin Thornberg sometime
between 1930-1940. They divorced in 1941. Lucille was remarried to Morris Friedman
on December 01, 1943. She did not have any children in either marriage that I
am aware of. Lucille Irene Reid Friedman died on November 02, 1993 in Los Angeles
Co., California. Morris & Lucille are buried in the Riverside National

 | 11. Esther Reid | Esther Margarett Reid was born on March 05,
1909 in NE. She is listed with her parents on the 1910 & 1920 censuses
of Swanton, Saline Co., NE. Esther married Carroll Eugene Tussey on March
20, 1930 in DeWitt, Saline Co., NE and they had 2 children. They are on the 1930
census of DeWitt, NE. Carroll & Esther lived in Swanton & DeWitt, NE until
about 1949 when they moved to California to run a boarding house for students
at Los Angeles College. They later had a restaurant there, and later enjoyed their
retirement years in California. Carroll died in 1998. Esther Margarett Reid
