Remembered Brother Nicholas
With pleasure do I now embrace the present moments afforded
me of writing you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and hope
when this reaches you it will find you enjoying the same state of helth. I would
like to go to see you but I am getting to old to undertake such a long journey
as that but I would like if you would come to see me when you answer this write
tell me where sister Smith (1) is and if you will send me her address. I will
write to her myself and let me know about all my friends are for I would like
to hear from them so well and tell me how the church of God is coming on in Altona.
I send my best wishes to ? Mcunne? (2) (cannot read) tell him I would be very
glad to get a letter from him. The friends and relations are all well accepting
my daughter Mary Baker she has been sick for about two years. She is no better.
We
have had a very pleasant sumer and the crops have been very good espeshily the
buckwheat it has done splendid this year. There is quite a nice lot of apples
peaches grapes pears this year. Answer soon and when you write tell me if your
sisters are all living yet and how they stand the times. Well I guess I will have
to bring my letter to a close hoping to hear from you soon. Please answer this
soon for I would like to hear from all of the folks soon. Well write soon very
soon.
