John George Schrotberger was born Sept 16, 1810 in Bavaria, Germany. He
was raised by Johann Matthias Schrotberger
& Anna Barbara Grammel. It is possible that either Johann Matthias or
Anna Barbara (or both) were adoptive parents of John George. Johann Matthias and
Anna Barbara had three more children, all born in Wallersdorf, Bavaria Germany.
One died in infancy, and family story is that the remaining two contested John
George's right to part of the inheritance when the parents died, and he left for
America and did not fight them for it.
Anna Maria Krug was born on
Feb. 24, 1821 in Neuses, Mittelfranken, Bavaria, Germany. She was the daughter
of Michael Krug & Eva Maria Weishaar

the 1860 (age 3) and the 1870 (age 14) censuses with her parents in Goodfarm,
Grundy Co., IL. Margaret married Frederick Pfeifer on October 17, 1876
and they had 2 sons. They are found in Goodfarm, Grundy Co., IL on all census
records I have for them. They are on the 1880 census living next door to Margaret's
sister Minnie and Henry Meier and also her sister Barbara and John Meier. Frederick
& Margaret's younger son, George, was living with them with his two sons in
1920, and in 1930 Frederick & Margaret were raising the two grandsons. Margaret's
granddaughter Irma Pfeifer told me that one of Margaret's very young grandsons
found a gun in the basement and accidentally shot and killed her. One of her obits
states that she was accidentally shot by her grandson Fred Pfeifer (age 28), but
this is an error. A second obit states that she was accidentally shot by her "lilttle
great-grandson" Wallace Pfeifer, who was only age 7 at the time, and this
is the correct information. Margaret was shot on November 22, 1938, and remained
in a coma for a week before she died. Margaret Schrotberger Pfeifer died November
30, 1938 in Grundy Co., IL. Frederick & Margaret are buried in the Round

Mina, age 12. Minnie married Henry L. Meier on August 9, 1878 in Grundy

& John Meier, each of whom married siblings of Minnie's. Henry & Minnie
are on the 1880 & 1900 censuses of Goodfarm, Grundy Co., IL. In 1880 they
are living next door to Frederick & Margaret (Schrotberger) Pfeifer and also
John & Barbara (Schrotberger) Meier, and in 1900 they are living next door
to the household of Frederick Pfeifer's brother William L. Pfeifer. The family

| Leonard Schrotberger | Leonard Schrotberger was born on September
21, 1864 in Goodfarm Twp, Grundy Co., IL. He is listed with his parents in
Goodfarm Twp., Grundy Co., IL censuses in 1870 (age 6) and 1880 (age 16). Leonard
married Carrie Baker and they had 5 children - the Illinois statewide marriage
index lists two records for Leonard & Carrie, one dated Aug 30, 1886 and another
dated Jan 1, 1892. I think the 1886 one is correct as their first child was born
in Feb 1887. Don't know why there is the second one for 1892. Leonard & Carrie
are on the 1900 census of Grundy Co., IL. They moved between 1900 to 1910 from
Illinois to Nebraska, and they are listed on the 1910, 1920 & 1930 censuses
