At the time of his death he was 35 years old, and he left Elizabeth with 8 children. I have not found Elizabeth and the children on the 1820 census at this time. In the Orphan's Court held in Huntingdon County in 1824, Henry Leamer Sr and Henry Leamer Jr petitioned the court that John had died intestate leaving 8 children (named) that were all under age 21. They also stated that the personal estate John left was insufficient to pay his debts, and that they wished to be granted an order to sell a tract of land John owed to pay his debts and provide for education and maintenance of his children. In 1836 when John's father Henry died, his will named 8 children for John as being heirs to his portion of Henry's estate. Elizabeth Kimmel died sometime after 1820, but I don't know when or where. It is possible that she remarried after John's death. I have not found Elizabeth or any of their daughters on any census records after 1810. Of their 3 sons, Henry settled in Cambria Co., PA, William settled in Cambria & later Clearfield Co. PA, and Jacob moved with his family to Benton Co., Iowa.
