CLAUS, ADAM DER KIRCHENBOTE VOL 5 #8 1923
Adam Claus died after a short illness on the evening of January 18 at the age
of 76 years 4 months and 26 days. He was born in Norka, Russia where he was baptised
and confirmed. In 1870 he was married and the two lived together happily for over
50 years. Nine Children were born to them of which 4 preceded their father is
death. In America they lived first in Sutton, Neb., later in Kearney and Grand
Island, Denver and for the last 23 years in Windsor. Father Claus was a charter
member of our church in Windsor, helped in the building of it and was faithfully
found in his place in God's house. With attention and love that he enjoyed, a
great number of mourners gathered on the 21st of January. Not only the Windsor
church but the neighboring churches gathered to pay their last respects. Text
Peter 1:3-7.
