Heinrich Peter married Catharina Pauly on January 24, 1861 and they had 8 children born between 1861 to 1880. Catharina was also from Norka. At least one of Heinrich's sons immigrated to America - Johannes in 1892. Another son, Conrad, died 1899, and his widow Margaret Kaiser Schleicher immigrated to the USA with their three sons on the ship Palatia, arriving June 8, 1900. She married John Schleiger (who was also from Norka) in July 1900 in Harvard, Clay, Nebraska, and the family eventually settled in Colorado. At least one of Conrad's sons used the surname Schleiger. Heinrich Peter Schleicher died sometime after 1880, probably in Russia but that is not for sure.

Johannes "Hannes" Georg Schleicher was born on October 1, 1841 in Norka, Volga Region, Saratov Province, Russia. Johannes married Catherine Elizabeth "Katie" Kern in Norka, and they had 10 children, only two of which (George & Gottlieb) lived to adulthood. At least 7 of their children died before they left Russia. The family immigrated to America on the Ship "SS Aller", which sailed from Bremen and arrived in New York on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1886. The passenger list includes, Hannes Schleicher & wife Catha., both 45, and sons George, age 12, and Gottlieb, age 5. They traveled in Steerage and had 2 pieces of luggage. (The chart by Dr. Pleve lists the immigration date as 1889, but this is incorrect.) Johannes' occupation is listed as "Miner". Johannes "Hannes" Schleicher died on April 27, 1888 in Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska. There is a record for son George's marriage to Katie Claus in Hall Co., Nebraska on Sept. 30, 1894 that lists George's parents as John Schleicher & Katie Kern. Witnesses were Conrad Clauss (the bride's father) & Mrs. Catherine Schleicher (George's mother). Katie is listed as widowed on the 1900 & 1910 censuses of Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska, living with her younger son Gottlieb. In 1900, Katie's occupation was listed as "laundress". Catharine Elizabeth "Katie" Kern Schleicher died on May 24, 1914 in Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska. John & Katie are both buried in Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska.
