Four of their children did not live past the age of 11. Johannes Schleicher died on April 01, 1891. Catharina Kuhlthau died on April 19, 1895. The Schleicher Pleve Chart does not list any children for Anna Maria & Johann Gottlieb Schwindt.

Heinrich Peter married Catharina Pauly on January 24, 1861 and they had 8 children born between 1861 to 1880. Catharina was also from Norka. At least two of Heinrich's sons immigrated to America - Johannes in 1892, and Conrad in 1900. Heinrich Peter Schleicher died sometime after 1880, probably in Russia but that is not for sure.

Johannes "John" Georg Schleicher Johannes Georg Schleicher was born on October 1, 1841 in Norka, Volga Region, Saratov Province, Russia. Johannes married Catherine Elizabeth "Katie" Kern in Norka, and they had 10 children, only two of which (George & Gottlieb) lived to adulthood. At least 7 of their children died before they left Russia. The family immigrated to America on the Ship "SS Aller", which sailed from Bremen and arrived in New York on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1886. The passenger list includes, Hannes Schleicher & wife Catha., both 45, and sons George, age 12, and Gottlieb, age 5. They traveled in Steerage and had 2 pieces of luggage. (The chart by Dr. Pleve lists the immigration date as 1889, but this is incorrect.) There is a record for son George's marriage to Katie Claus in Hall Co., NE on Sept. 30, 1894 that lists George's parents as John Schleicher & Katie Kern. Witnesses were Conrad Clauss (the bride's father) & Mrs. Catherine Schleicher (George's mother). Johannes "John" Schleicher died sometime between 1886 to 1900, probably in Nebraska, but it is not certain. Katie is listed as widowed on the 1900 & 1910 censuses of Grand Island, Hall Co., NE, living with her younger son Gottlieb. I have not been able to locate her on the 1920 census at this time; she is not listed with her son Gottlieb, who was single and still living in Grand Island, Hall Co., NE. Catharine Elizabeth "Katie" Kern Schleicher probably died between 1910 to 1920 in Grand Island, Hall Co., NE.
