unable to identify his assailant and the guilty person was never found. Katie
remarried a widower named Heinrich "Henry" Fuss on November 1, 1919
in Grand Island. Henry & Katie are listed on the 1920 census of Washington,
Hall Co., NE. Henry died between 1920 to 1930, and Katie is listed as widowed
on the 1930 census of Grand Island, Hall Co., NE. Katie died on May 02, 1946
in Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska. She is buried with George in the Grand
Island Cemetery, Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska near the graves of son John
H. & Elizabeth (Pfenning) Schleicher. George's stone says "Father and
Katie's stone says "Mother". Henry died on October 10, 1949 in Grand
Island, Hall, Nebraska. |

her parents on the 1900 & 1910 censuses for Grand Island. When she was 17,
Blanche had a son named Alfred George (listed on later records as George Alfred.
Also known as Kelly) born on Dec 25, 1912 in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska at a
home for unwed mothers. On Jan 18, 1914 she married Charles W. Northup
in Omaha, Nebraska. The family moved from Omaha to Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska
about 1919. Charles & Blanche are on the 1920, 1930 & 1940 censuses for
Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska. In 1940, their divorced son George and grandsons
Max & Bob are listed as living in their household. Charles and Blanche are
also listed as living in Lincoln in the 1943 obit of Cyrus Northup, Charles' father.
Charles Northup died on October 7, 1962 in Lincoln, Lancaster, NE. Blanche
Schleicher Northup died on March 22, 1969 in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska.
In her obituary it stated that she had been a resident of Lincoln for 50 years.
She and Charles are both buried at Wyuka Cemetery, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
