"Mary Etta (Dyer) Peck was born Dec. 2, 1865, at Evansville, Ill. died July 6, 1923, at her home. 426 Cherry St., Springfield, MO. Mrs. Peck came with her parents to Missouri in 1875, at the age of ten years, locating near Peirce City. About 5 years later she moved to Mt. Vernon. She lived several other places in her life time, but about four years ago she moved with her family to Springfield. She lived to the age of 57 years, 7 months and 4 days. She professed faith in Christ when she was 17 years old and joined the church. She was a member of the First Baptist church, Springfield, at the time of her death. She was married to Geo. S. Peck, Oct. 14, 1885, at Mt. Vernon. To this union was born five children Percy W. Peck, Cherokee, Kans., Mrs. Carrie Mace, Neosho, Earl G. Peck, dying in infancy, about 3 years of age, Paul B. and Mary Burnice Peck of Springfield who were living with their parents. She leaves a loving husband, the above named children, four brothers and many, many friends to mourn her departure. She was a member of the Trinity Rebecca Lodge, No. 143 Springfield, also a member of the Royal neighbors, Oakland Camp, Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Peck was one of the best women I ever knew in every relation of life. The writer of this obituary knew her first in the Mt. Vernon Baptist church. J.J?.L." (Lawrence Chieftain, Mt.
