David Gideon Dyer was born in Mt Vernon, MO Oct. 11, 1885, died Apr 24, 1925. He lived in Mt Vernon all his life. In early childhood he united with the Presbyterian Church. He leaves four brothers, Ed, Sam, Joe, and Bolton, all of Mt Vernon, except Bolton who is in Marble Falls, Tx and two sisters, Mrs. T W Hogue and Miss Dora both of Mt Vernon. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at his home by Reverend Lyle H Gillham. He was laid to rest in the city cemetery.

The 9 Jan 1936 copy of the Lawrence Chieftain is missing from the microfilm. I don't know if they have a morgue back that far at the newspaper office or not. I checked to make sure, and there's no mention of Bodie's death in the 2 Jan 1936. In the 16 Jan 1936 issue there's a brief note: "Ed Dyer has returned to Kansas City, and his son, Max, to Columbia. They were called here on account of the death of their brother and uncle, B. B. Dyer."

Buried in Mt. Vernon 100F cemetery
