born on November 17, 1877 in Lawrence Co., MO. He is listed with his parents
on the 1880 census of Lincoln, Lawrence Co., MO as Arndo, age 2 (census taker's
handwriting is poor). On all other records I have found for him, including his
death record, his name is listed as Andy. Andy married Bertha Barker about
1900 and they had at least 2 sons. The family moved several times during their
marriage. Andy & Bertha are on the 1900 census of Boone Twp., Greene Co.,
MO. At that time they had been married 0 years and had 0 children. They moved
from Missouri to Oregon between 1900 to 1910, and they are listed on the 1910
census of East Hood River, Hood River Co, OR. At that time Andy's occupation was
listed as Farm Laborer, Fruit Farm, and Bertha was listed as having 1 birth with
1 surviving child. The family moved from Oregon to Kansas sometime between 1910

mother's probate papers in March 1919 he is also listed as living in Parsons,

He gave the correct names for Nancy's parents, but not for Joseph's - for Joseph's
father he said Andrew Moore (It was William, but he had a brother named Andrew),
and for Joseph's mother he said "unknown". In 1920 Andy & Bertha
are listed on the census of Mt. Vernon, Lawrence Co., MO, and Andy's occupation
is given as hotel manager. They moved from Missouri to Illinois between 1920 to

MO. She is listed as Mrs. Clara Smith of Carthage, MO in her father's obit in
January 1919, and as Clara Bell Smith, residence Mt. Vernon, MO, in March 1919
on her mother's probate records. I don't know if Leander died or they divorced,
but Clara Bell remarried William A. "Bill" Farrell by 1920 and
is listed with him on the 1920 census of Green, Lawrence Co., MO with her sons
Oral & Harry Wood. I have not found her on the 1930 census at this time. Clara
married William P. Jones in Sarcoxie, Jasper, Missouri on January 1, 1939.
William was Clara's brother-in-law as he was the widower of Jennie Eva Wood, who
was sister of Clara's first husband, James O. Wood. Jennie Eva was William's second
wife - his first wife, Cora May Cannady, was granddaughter of Wilford Cannady,
second husband of Sarah Jane Mann Dyer. Mrs.
Clara Jones of Sarcoxie was the informant for the death certificate of sister
Leva (Moore) Fowler on November 12, 1950. Mrs. Clara Woods was the informant for
the death certificate of brother Raymond Fowler on April 10, 1852. Clara Bell
Moore Wood Smith Ferrell Jones died on August 20, 1975 in Sarcoxie, Jasper, Missouri.
She is buried in Summit Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Lawrence, Missouri under the
name Clara Bell Jones. | |
| Unknown Son #2 Moore | Unknown Son #2 Moore was probably born between 1881 to 1885 in Lawrence Co., MO. His parents obits state that they had 11 children, that 3 of those children died in infancy, and that they had 5 sons and 6 daughters. I am guessing on his birthyear because based on birthyears of the other children it seems odd that they would have a 6 year gap without a birth between Clara & Lenna. This son is not listed on any census records. Unknown Son #2 Moore probably died between 1881 to 1890 in Lawrence Co., MO. | |
| Lenna Moore | Lenna T. Moore was born on October
07, 1886 in Lawrence Co., MO. She is listed with her parents on the 1900 census
of Mt. Vernon, Lawrence Co., MO. Lenna married George Smith on October
28, 1903 at the home of Rev. J. F. Williams in Lawrence Co., MO, and they had
7 children. George & Lenna are living with their family on the 1910 census
of Mt. Vernon, Lawrence Co., MO, and Lenna is listed in the on her father's obit
in Jan 1919 and in the probate papers of her mother in March 1919 as Lenna Smith,
residence Mt. Vernon, MO. I have not been able to find the family on the 1920
census. Based on her parents probate papers and birthplaces of their children,
the family moved from Missouri to Oregon some time between 1919 to 1922, and they
are listed on the 1930 census of Hood River, Hood River Co., OR. Lenna Moore
Smith died on January 28, 1981 in Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon. I do not
know when George died, but he is listed as Spouse on Lenna's death record on the
Oregon Death Index on www.ancestry.com. According to the SSDI, her last
residence was Portland, Multnomah Co., Or and the Last Benefit after her death
sent to Hood River, Hood River, Oregon. |
