Alfred Harrison Kelley & Millie Springfield

Alfred Harrison Kelley & Millie Springfield were married on October 23, 1835 in Greenville, SC and they had at 12 children. (Millie's sister Juliette later married Alfred's brother Harrison in 1843.) According to birthplaces of their children, Alfred & Millie were in TN in 1836, but had returned to Greenville, SC by 1839. They are listed on the 1840 census of Greenville District, SC. Alfred & Millie returned to TN in 1841 and had a child there, but they moved to Greene Co., Missouri about 1842. The family is listed on the 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1800 censuses of Boone Township, Greene Co., MO. There are some Greene Co., MO court records that indicate that Alfred & three others were indicted for selling liquor without a license in 1858, but the charge was dismissed in 1859. Alfred is listed on the 1850 & 1860 censuses as being a Blacksmith, and on the 1870 & 1880 censuses as being a Farmer. Alfred died on May 12, 1889 in Ash Grove, Greene Co., MO. I have copies of probate records for both Alfred & Millie. Millie's name is spelled Millie on most of the probate records, but it is spelled Milley on at least 2 of the papers, and also on her tombstone.
