He is listed in a 1949 City Directory in Lakewood, Ohio, and in 1959 he is listed in his mother's obituary as living in Denver, Colorado. In later years, Lester & Betty were managers of the La Casita apartments on 1st and Broadway in Denver, Colorado. Lester Alvin Dye died on August 17, 1963 in Denver, Denver, Colorado. Betty Belle Dyer Dye died on September 26, 1974 in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. Lester and Betty are both buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

In 1940 they are living next door to the household of Ralph Eatough, including daughter Norma, age 16. Bill married Norma Eatough on May 18, 1942 in Central City, Merrick, Nebraska, and they had 2 children. They divorced, and Bill was married second to Joyce Crandall on October 24, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had one daughter. They also divorced, and Bill was married to Atlanta Brees on December 27, 1952 in Galena, Maryland. They had 5 children. Bill was a Captain in the Army Air Corps/Air Force, and spent many years researching and developing medicines for tuberculosis. He recieved his PhD in Microbiology in 1959, and was an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha for several years. William Eugene "Bill" Dye died on June 10, 1981 in Denver, Denver, Colorado.
