The Children of Kenneth Dye & Jane Vanderbeck
| 1)Peter Dye | Peter Dye was born on April 11, 1782 in
South Amboy, Middlesex Co., NJ. His parents emigrated from New Jersey to Mason
Co., KY between 1788 to 1793, when he was 6 to 11 years old. Peter married his
first cousin Abigail Dye on April 20, 1805 in Mason Co., KY. At the time
of their marriage, Abigail had an illigitemate daughter from a previous relationship
named Eliza. Peter & Abigail had at least 4 sons, and early census records
indicate they may have had one more son and also another daughter whose names
I have not discovered at this time. The family is listed on the 1810 & 1820
censuses of Fleming Co., KY, which is next to Mason Co., KY. Peter is listed as
an heir in the will of his father's will that was dated March 15, 1817. Peter
died in 1822 & Abigail died in 1825. At the time of Abigail's death,
the children ranged in age from 3 to 18. Child of Abigail Dye & Unknown is:
Eliza (1803). Children of Peter & Abigail Dye are: Lawrence (1807), Unknown
Son (1810-1820), Unknown Daughter (1810-1820), Kenneth (1812), Nehemiah (1816)
& John (1818). The Family of Peter Dye & Abigail Dye Notes for Peter Dye
| 2)William Dye | William Dye was born on April 11, 1784
in South Amboy, Middlesex Co., NJ. His parents emigrated from New Jersey to
Mason Co., KY between 1788 to 1793, when he was 4 to 9 years old. William married
Charlotte Wells Shotwell Wood on February 02, 1805 in Mason Co., KY. Charlotte
was the widow of Abraham Wood; she was also the sister of John Shotwell &
Nathan Shotwell who married two of William's sisters. I do not know the names
of any children of William & Charlotte. There are two households on the 1810
census of Mason Co., KY headed by William Dye that are in the right age range
- one has 2 daughters, and the other has 4 sons and 3 daughters. As William &
Charlotte had only been married 5 years, I think the household with 2 children
is the most likely, unless Charlotte had children from her previous marriage to
Abraham Wood. William is listed as an heir in his father's will that was dated
March 15, 1817. I do not have any records for him after that. William Dye died
sometime after 1817, probably in Mason Co., KY but that is not for sure. Notes for William Dye
| 3)Rachel Dye | Rachel Dye was born on September 10,
1785 in South Amboy, Middlesex Co., NJ. Her parents emigrated from New Jersey
to Mason Co., KY between 1788 to 1793, when she was 3 to 8 years old. Rachel married
John Shotwell on March 01, 1803 in Mason Co., KY, and they had 2 children.
Rachel died on October 01, 1808 in Mayslick, Mason Co., KY. She is listed
as being deceased in her father's will that was dated March 15, 1817, with 2 children
that would split her portion of the inheritance. After Rachel's death, John married
Sarah "Sally" Burroughs and had 5 more children. John died on
July 03, 1824 in Mays Lick, Mason Co., KY. Children of John Shotwell & Rachel
Dye are Ann (1805) & Lorena (1806).

KY between 1788 to 1793, when she was 1 to 6 years old. Phoebe married Charles
Maxfield (Moorfield?) on February 20, 1805 in Mason Co., KY. There
are online transcriptions of the Mason Co., KY marriage records listing her husband's
last name as Maxfield, and others listing it as Moorfield, but I have not found
any household headed by either name. Phoebe is listed as an heir in her father's
will that was dated March 15, 1817. I have not found the family on the 1810 or
1820 censuses at this time, and have no further information on Phoebe. Phoebe
Dye Maxfield died sometime after 1817, but I don't know when or where. Notes for Phoebe Dye Maxfield

Middlesex Co., NJ or Mason Co., KY. Her parents emigrated from New Jersey
to Mason Co., KY between 1788 to 1793, (by the time she was 4 years old.) Margaret
married Nathan Shotwell on January 13, 1806 in Mason Co., KY; the IGI on
www.familysearch.com lists Margaret's name as Grover for some unknown reason.
Nathan & Margaret are listed on the 1810 census of Mason Co., KY with 2 sons
under age 10 and another unidentified male in the household age 16 to 25. Margaret
Dye Shotwell died sometime between 1810 to 1817. She is listed as being deceased
in her father's will that was dated March 15, 1817, with children that would split
her portion of the inheritance. In 1820 Nathan Shotwell has a female in the household
of an age to be a second wife, and there are 4 young males and 3 young females
in the household, but I do not know how many of these children were from his marriage
to Margaret Dye. Notes for Margaret Dye Shotwell
| 6)James Dye | James Dye was born about 1791 in South Amboy, Middlesex
Co., NJ or Mason Co., KY. His parents emigrated from New Jersey to Mason Co.,
KY between 1788 to 1793, (by the time he was 2 years old.) He is listed as an
heir in his father's will that was dated March 15, 1817. I do not have any further
information for him. James Dye died sometime after 1817, but I don't know when
or where. Notes for James Dye

of Kenith Dye on the 1810 census of Mason Co., KY. David married Susannah Burroughs
on March 18, 1816 in Mason Co., KY; both were about age 19 at the time of
the marriage. David's father died in 1817 when he was age 20. He is listed as
an heir in his father's will that was dated March 15, 1817. David & Susannah
had at least 3 children, and census records indicate as many as 5. The family
is listed on the 1820 census of Mason Co., KY. Susannah died on Aug 12, 1822 at
age 25. David remarried Nancy Patterson on November 25, 1822 in Mason Co.,
KY and they had at least 3 children. Nancy was the niece of David's first wife,

such as they may choose, & I do here by appoint my friend Jonathan Ross executor
to this my last will & testament, also guardians to all my children under

time between 1817 to 1827 he moved from Kentucky to Indiana. Kenneth married Juliana

7 children. Juliana was the daughter of Emanuel
