Dye & Mary Ann VanTrease
Sarah Helen Lewman was born on March 6, 1830
in Vermilion Co., Illinois. She was the daughter of Basil Finn Lewman & Mary
Trickel.

Dye & Sarah Helen Lewman were married on March 22, 1855 in Vermilion Co.,
Illinois and they settled in Georgetown, Vermilion Co., IL and had 3 children.
A history of Vermilion County states "Hiram Dye, Georgetown, farmer and stock-raiser,
was born in Fleming Co., KY on his father's farm, on the 4th of April, 1825, and
lived there until 1841, when, with his parents, he came to Illinois and settled
in Vermilion County. In 1853 he came to his present place. On the 22nd of March,
1855, he married Miss Sarah H. Leuman; she was born in Vermilion County, Illinois.
They have three children: Wilson, Mary C. and Martha J. He owns five hundred and
twenty acres in this county, which he has earned by his own labor and management.
After he became of age he worked eight years for one hundred dollars a year. He
has hauled many loads of apples to Chicago by ox team; he made his first trip
about 1844." Hiram & Sarah are listed on the 1855, 1860, 1870 & 1880
censuses of Georgetown, Vermilion Co., IL. Hiram Dye died September 28, 1882
in Georgetown, Vermilion, Illinois. Sarah Helen Lewman Dye died on May 12,
1908 in Georgetown, Vermilion Co., Illinois. Hiram & Sarah are buried at Mt.

| John Wilson Dye | John Wilson Dye was born on December 16,
1855 in Georgetown, Vermilion Co., Illinois. He is listed as John, age 4 on
the 1860 census and as John, age 14 on the 1870 census, both with his parents
in Georgetown, Vermilion, Illinois. John Wilson married Laura Rayborn and
they had 7 children. They are listed on the 1880 census of Carroll, Vermilion,
Illinois and on the 1900 census of Danville, Vermilion, Illinois. In 1880 John
is listed as Wilson Dye, and in 1900 as John W. Dye, and his occupation is listed
as Farmer on both censuses. The family moved from Illinois to Oklahoma between
1900-1910, and they are listed on the 1910 & 1920 censuses of Altus, Jackson,
Oklahoma. On both the 1910 & 1920 the head of household is listed as John
W. Dye, but in 1910 his occupation was Livery Owner and in 1920 it is Farmer.
John Wilson Dye died on November 01, 1926, probably in Altus, Jackson, Oklahoma.

| Mary Catherine "Kittie" Dye | Mary Catherine "Kittie"
Dye was born on April 19, 1860 in Georgetown, Vermilion Co., Illinois. She
is listed as Mary C. on all census records, but was known as "Kittie"
to her family and friends. She is listed on the 1860, 1870 & 1880 censuses
with her parents in Georgetown, Vermilion, Illinois. On the 1880 census, Albert
H. Gibbs, age 28, a brick mason, is also listed in their household. Kittie married
Albert Hiram Gibbs on October 10, 1883 in Vermilion Co., Illinois. They
had 4 children. The family is listed on the 1900 & 1910 censuses of Carroll,
Vermilion, Illinois. Mary Catherine "Kittie" Dye Gibbs died on April
27, 1914 in Vermilion, Illinois. She is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola,
Vermilion, Illinois. Albert died on November 17, 1938 in Indianola, Vermilion,
