The first 5 were christened in the Paramus Church & the last one was christened in Schraalenburgh, both of which are in Bergen Co., NJ. Barend died in March 1805 and Francyntje died in August 1830. They are both buried in the Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Saddle River, Bergen Co., New Jersey.

Catharina ForsheeCatharina Forshee was born on June 14, 1760 in Rockland Co., NY or Bergen Co., NJ. She was christened Catharina Fochi on Aug 9, 1760 in the Paramus Church in Bergen Co., NJ. Her parents were listed as Barend & Francyntje, and the witnesses were Jan & Catharina Fochi. Catharina married Samuel C. Demarest on May 24, 1780, and they had 7 children born between 1781 to 1793. Samuel Demarest either died or they divorced, and Catharina remarried Samuel Durie about 1794. Samuel Durie was on tax lists for Harrington, Bergen Co., NJ in June 1793. Samuel Durie & Catharina had 3 daughters born in 1795, 1798 & 1800. A website by Robert Gordon Clark cites the following information from the book The Durie Family by Howard I Durie 1985 pg 22, 47. Samuel Durie was a Miller by occupation. He had been a Loyalist in the Revolutionary War. The family is listed as living in Rampo, Rockland Co., NY in 1811. They are on tax records for Saddle River, Bergen Co., NJ in 1814. The household of Samuel Duryea is listed on the 1830 census of Harrington, Bergen Co., NJ, with a female the right age to be Catharina, age 69. Next door is her the household of John & Elizabeth (Forshee) Peck. Catharina Forshee Demarest Durie died on September 11, 1837, probably in Bergen Co., NJ. Samuel is on the 1840 census of Washington Twp., Bergen Co., NJ. He died in 1843.

Jannetje ForsheeJannetje Forshee was born in 1763 in Rockland Co., NY or Bergen Co., NJ. She was christened Jannetje Verseur on Nov 1, 1763 in the Paramus Church in Bergen Co., NJ. Her parents were listed as Barend & Francyntje, and the witnesses were Gerrit & Jannetje Blauvelt. Jannetje married Andries Debaun (Debaan) about 1786, and they had 7 children, born between 1787 to 1801. At least 6 of these children were christened in the Paramus Church in Bergen Co., NJ. Jannetje remarried Robert Charlton sometime between 1800 to 1824. I do not have any record of children from the second marriage. Jannetje Forshee Debaun Charlton died on April 24, 1824.

Maria "Polly" Forshee was born in 1765 in Rockland Co., NY or Bergen Co., NJ. She was christened Maria Veseur on Dec 28, 1765 in the Paramus Church in Bergen Co., NJ. Her parents were listed as Barend & Sientje, and the witnesses were Pieter & Maria Vosuer. Maria married Jan (John) Ryers on Feb. 27, 1784 and they had at least 7 children born between 1785 to 1808. I have found record of 7 children born to this family that were all baptised in the Paramus Church, Bergen Co., NJ. John Ryers is listed on the 1813 tax list of Saddle River, Bergen Co., NJ. Maria "Polly" Forshee Ryer died in 1815, probably in Bergen Co., NJ. John Ryars is listed on the 1816 tax list of Saddle River, Bergen Co., NJ.

Annatje (Hannah) ForsheeAnnatje Hannah Forshee was born in 1768 in Rockland Co., NY or Bergen Co., NJ. She was christened Annatje Veseur on Dec 5, 1768 in the Paramus Church in Bergen Co., NJ. Her parents were listed as Barend & Syntje, and the witnesses were Gerrit & Annatje Blauvelt. Annatje married David Debaan (Debaun). David & Annatje are listed as witnesses to the 1796 christening of David Debaan, son of Abraham & Sarah Debaan. They are listed as the parents of a son born March 22, 1803. There is a David & Lena Debaan listed as parents of a son born in 1810. All 3 christenings were at the Paramus church, Bergen Co., NJ. In July 1812, David Debaan and wife Anatje Fesheur were listed as full members in the Dutch Reformed Church in Saddle River, NJ when the congregation of Saddle River and Paramus were divided. There is a David Debaun family listed on the 1810, 1820 & 1830 census of Ramapo, Rockland Co., NY. Annatje (Hannah) Forshee Debaan died on June 2, 1836 in Rockland Co., NY.

Magdalena Forshee

Magdalena Forshee was born in 1771 in Rockland Co., NY or Bergen Co., NJ. Magdalena married Lodowick Bush about 1787 in NJ or NY and they had 14 children, 12 of whom lived to adulthood. The family is on the 1790 census of Haverstraw Town, Orange Co. (became Rockland Co., in 1798), NY. They had children who were christened at the Paramus Dutch Reformed Church in Saddle River, Bergen Co., NJ in 1788, 1790, 1792, 1794, 1798 & 1799. I have not located him on the 1800 census at this time, but they had children christened in the Paramus church in 1801 & 1803. In 1804 they are referred to in a land deed in Bergen Co., NJ as "Lodowick Bush of New Hemsted in the County of Rockland, State of New York, and Helena, his wife", and they are mentioned in another Bergen Co., NJ land deed in 1805. They had a son christened in the Paramus church in 1808. I have not found them on the 1810 census either, but they had a daughter who was christened July 1, 1810 in the Paramus church. In 1812 they are listed in another Bergen Co., NJ land deed as "Lodiwick Bush of County of Bergen and Lenah, his wife". They had children christened in the Paramus church in 1813 & May 1816. That same year the family moved from Bergen Co., NJ to Ontario Co., NY. Lodowick is listed on the Grantee Deed Index for Ontario County, NY as making 3 purchases of land in 1816, and he is on tax records for Benton, Ontario Co., NY in 1816. The family is listed on the 1820 census of Benton, Ontario Co., NY; at that time their widowed daughter Margaret Bush Van Winkle had come to live with them with her children. Lodowick is listed on tax records for Benton in 1821 & 1822; in 1822 one of his properties was a saw mill. Yates Co., NY was formed from parts of Ontario & Steuben counties in 1823, and the family is listed on the 1830 census of Benton, Yates Co., NY. Sometime between 1830 to 1839 Lodowick & Magdalena moved to Romulus, Seneca Co., NY. Lodowick Bush died on September 13, 1839 in Romulus, Seneca Co., NY. Madgdalena died the next month on October 19, 1839 in Romulus, Seneca Co., NY. Lodowick & Magdalena are both buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Torrey, Yates Co., NY.
