The Family of Peder Aslesen Lunde & Else Olsdatter Gravli

Contract between Peder & Else (Gravli) Lunde and their older son Asle & wife Gunhild (Fredericksdatter) Lunde and their younger son Ole & wife Ingeborg (Viker) Lunde:

Know all men by these presents that Asle Lunde and Gunhild Lunde his wife and Ole Lunde and Engeborg Lunde his wife parties of the first part are held and firmly bound unto Peter Lund and Else Lunde his wife in the sum of two thousand ($2000.00 dollars) well and truly to be paid, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators by these presents.

Whereas, the aforesaid Peter Lunde and Else Lunde have this day conveyed to Asle Lunde their son the East half of the North East quarter of section eighteen (18), the South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section seven (7), and the South West quarter of teh South West quarter of section eight (8) all in Township one hundred and two (102) Range twenty (20) and to Ole Lunde their son, The South half of the North East quarter of Section eight (8) in Township one hundred and two (102) Range twenty (20).

Now therefore, the condition of this Bond is such, that if the first parties, shall and do, well and truly perform this obligation hereinafter (?) set forth, then this obligation shall be and become null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect and the above described lands to vest fully to the said parties of the second part or pay the sum of $2000 as the second parties or party shall elect.

The condition of this Bond and obligation are such, that the said parties of the first part shall support the aforesaid parties of the second part for and during their natural lives or the life of either of them in the following manner, the said parties of the first part shall furnish to the parties of the second part and each of them a good suitable room by themselves if they so choose, with every necessary for their comfort, with fire, bed, bedclothes in said room, do all their washing and furnish them with good and suitable board, and they shall be treated kindly in words and deeds by the parties of the first part, and shall have necessary and proper clothing, and necessary and proper medical equipment and care during sickness, and shall have such care generally as is good care, reference being had to teh condition of the parties, and in addition there to shall have paid to them annually the sum of twenty five dollars each to be paid by the parties of the first part during their natural lives or life, as the case may be.

That the consideration of this bond or obligation the conveyence of the above land, is that second parties and each of them shall have the care and support above.

In testimony whereof, the said parties have hereunto seet their hands and seals this 2nd day of September, 1891.

I, H. E. Halvorson, a Justice of the Peace within and for said county, do hereby certify that on this 2nd day of September 1891 personally came before me, Alse Lunde, Gunhild Lunde his wife, Ole Lunde and Engborg Lunde his wife. Peter Lunde and Else Lunde his wife to me well known as the same persons described in and who executed the foregoing Bond or obligation, and each acknowledged that they executed the same freely and voluntarily for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
