Buskerud, Norway. He was the son of Gulbrand
Endresen Lunde & Kari Amundsdatter Skagnes
Marit Hansdatter Gravli
was born on September 2, 1814 in Norway. She was the daughter of Hans Haagensen
Oustad & Gonor Weggersdatter Gravli. Marit's grandparents were Wegger
Olsen Gravli & Else Larsdatter Skarud, and she was raised by her Uncle
& Aunt Ole Weggersen Gravli & Ragnhild

Gulbrandson & Marit Hansdatter Gravli | Endre Gulbrandson
& Marit Hansdatter Gravli were married on October 18, 1840 at the Viker Church,
Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway and they had 8 children. The first six children
were born between 1841-1852 on the Hvalsie/Granum farm in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway.
The family emigrated from Norway to America in 1852, arriving in Quebec and traveling
by canal boat to Wisconsin, where they settled for a few years before moving to
Minnesota in 1856. Endre was one of the first permanent settlers of Hayward, Freeborn
Co., MN, along with Peder Lunde & Else Gravli.
(Else Gravli was the first cousin of Endre's wife Marit Hansdatter Gravli.) The
family is listed on the 1860, 1870 & 1880 censuses of Hayward, Freeborn Co.,
MN, with Endre's occupation listed as Farmer. Endre Gulbrandson died on March
27, 1886 in Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Marit died on February 21, 1898 in
Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Endre & Marit are both buried in the Hayward Cemetery,

| Gilbert Gulbrandson | Gilbert Gulbrandson was born on July 17,
1841 in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway. He emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin,
USA in the spring of 1852 when he was age 10. He moved with his parents to Hayward,
Freeborn Co., MN in 1856 when he was age 15. Gilbert is listed with his parents
on the 1860 & 1870 censuses of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. He was a Civil War
veteran, serving from August 15, 1862 to May 17, 1863 when he was wounded at Black
River Bridge, Mississippi. (He was pronounced dead on the field and left there,
but was later found and carried to a hospital.) Gilbert married Christine Matiasdatter
Lunde in 1875 and they had 8 children. Gilbert started a Hardware business
with his brothers Hans & Vegger, and then he became the first president of
the First National Bank at Albert Lea. He also served as a Probate Judge in Freeborn
Co., MN. The family is listed on the 1880 census of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co.,
MN with Gilbert's occupation listed as Banker. Gilbert Gulbrandson died on
February 19, 1900 in Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. Gilbert is buried in the
Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. Christine is listed on the 1900
census of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN as widowed and head of household. About
1904, Christine was remarried to Wegger Weggersen Gravli, who was a nephew
of Else Gravli Lunde & "first cousin once removed" of Gilbert's
mother Marit. Wegger & Christine are listed on the 1910 census of Albert Lea,
Freeborn Co., MN, living next door to the household of Olaf & Nora (Gulbrandson)
Rodli. Christine & Wegger returned to Norway, and she died there in 1918.
After Christine's death, Wegger was married to Elise Kristine Wahl - at
the time of their marriage Wegger was age 63 and Elise was age 29. Wegger &
Elise had two daughters, born in 1925 & 1930. Wegger died in 1949 and Elise

Gulbrandson was born on January 03, 1843 in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway. She
emigrated with her parents to Wisconsin, USA in the spring of 1852 when she was
age 9. She moved with her parents to Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN in 1856 when she
was age 13. She is listed in 1860 as Julia, age 17, and in 1870 as Julia, age
27, both in the household of her parents in Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Gunnor
married Peter Hanson about 1873 and they had 7 children. The family is

Gulbrandson Hanson died sometime between the birth of her last child in August
1885 and 1900, probably in Freeborn Co., MN . Peter is listed as widowed with

| Hans Gulbrandson | Hans Gulbrandson was born on September
9, 1844 in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway. He emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin,
USA in the spring of 1852 when he was age 7. He moved with his parents to Hayward,
Freeborn Co., MN in 1856 when he was age 11. Hans is listed with his parents on
the 1860 (age 15) & 1870 (age 26) censuses of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Hans
married Olive Elizabeth Nelson on July 4, 1878 in Freeborn Co., MN and
they had 3 children. Hans was in the Hardware & Implement business in Albert
Lea along with his brothers Hans & Gilbert. The family is listed on the 1880,
1900, 1910, 1920 & 1930 censuses of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. Hans was
of the Lutheran faith, and he bought and gave to the Lutherans the church that
later became Our Savior's Lutheran in Albert Lea. Hans Gulbrandson died on
June 19, 1931 in Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. He was age 85 on the 1930 census,
and still listed as Proprietor of a Hardware Store. Olive died on April 25, 1948

| Vegger Gulbrandson | Vegger Gulbrandson was born on November 04,
1846 in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway. He emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin,
USA in the spring of 1852 when he was age 5. He moved with his parents to Hayward,
Freeborn Co., MN in 1856 when he was age 9. He is listed as William, age 14 on
the 1860 census, and Viger, age 23, on the 1870 census, both in the household
of his parents in Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Vegger is listed by himself on the
1880 census of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN, occupation Hardware Merchant. Vegger
married Anne Marie Knudson about 1880 and they had 8 children. The family
is listed on the 1900 census of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN with Vegger's occupation
listed as Farmer. Vegger was a partner in the Hardware business with his brothers
Gilbert & Hans, and also was Vice President of the First National Bank in
Hayward (his brother Gilbert was President). He also served as an Alderman for
Albert Lea, and was active in preserving the history of Freeborn Co., MN. The
family is listed on the 1910 census of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. Anne Marie
died on June 27, 1919 in Freeborn Co., MN. Vegger is listed on the 1920 census
of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. (Vegger is mistakenly listed as married on this

| Kari Gulbrandson | Kari Gulbrandson was born on October 29, 1849
in Aadalen, Buskerud, Norway. She emigrated with her parents to Wisconsin,
USA in the spring of 1852 when she was age 2. She moved with her parents to Hayward,
Freeborn Co., MN in 1856 when she was age 6. She is listed as Caroline, age 11,
with her parents on the 1860 census of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Kari married
Lars Nielson Lunde about 1871 in Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN and they had
11 children. Lars and Kari were both Lunde descendants; Lars' father Nils was
a half-brother of Peder Aslesen Lunde. Lars
& Kari are listed with their family is listed on the 1880, 1900 & 1910
censuses of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Lars died on March 30, 1917 in Freeborn

| Maria Gulbrandson | Maria Gulbrandson was born on January 21, 1853
in Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN in 1856
when she was age 3. She is listed as Mary, age 7 on the 1860 census, and as Maria,
age 17, on the 1870, census, both in the household of her parents in Hayward,
Freeborn Co., MN. Maria married John Anderson and they had at least one
daughter named Millie. The family is listed on the 1880 census of Albert Lea,
Freeborn Co., MN with John's occupation listed as Wheat Buyer. Maria Gulbrandson
Anderson died in 1885 in Freeborn Co., MN. I do not find her daughter Millie

| Else Lugenie Gulbrandson | Else Lugenie Gulbrandson was born on
November 1854 in Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to Hayward, Freeborn
Co., MN in 1856 when she was age 1-1/2. She is listed as Elsie L., age 5 in 1860,
as Elsie, age 15 in 1870, and as Else, age 25 in 1880, all in the household of
her parents on the census of Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. Her father died in 1886
and her mother died in 1898. Else is listed as "Aunt" on the 1900 census
of Antelope Valley, Deuel Co., South Dakota in the household of Gilbert Lunde
(born 1875, son of Lars & Kari Gulbrandson Lunde.) Else is listed as being
Single on all census records I have found for her. I do not find her on the 1910

in Hayward, Freeborn Co., MN. He is listed with his parents in Hayward, Freeborn
Co., MN on the 1860 (age 1), 1870 (age 11) and 1880 (age 21) censuses. Edward
married Bertha Benson about 1898, and they had 2 children. The family is
listed on the 1900 census of Hartland, Freeborn Co., MN with Edward's occupation
listed as Farmer. Edward Gulbrandson died in 1900 in Freeborn Co., MN.
He died the same year that his youngest child was born. Bertha is listed as widowed
