Information sent to Lorraine Haugstad by Edna Rude, Halling Genealogist: Margit was born Aug 15, 1818 to Nub Knudsen and Ingeborg Evensdr. Went to Moss, Ostvold County,had a son born there by the name of Niels Julius Johnson on Oct 24, 1846.Father is listed as Johan Jensen. Have not yet found the marriage of Johan and Margit, will research more. On 1900 Census Julius is listed as the son of Ole Nilson, born in Norway Oct 1846 and em. in 1850. (Needs more research.)

Adopted by Ole Viker, and was with raised by him. Never married. Lived with Ole and Carl on the farm in Moscow MN.

July 25, 1865 - Julius killed his brother Nils in a farming accident (family story says he was killed with a scythe during harvest. Nils was age 11 and Julius was age 18. According to family story, Nils was hidden by the tall wheat in the field and Julius didn't realize he was there. He hit him with a scythe in the stomach. There is a death record for Nils Olson Wiger at the Elstad Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, Fillmore Co., Minnesota
