DEATH: John Blakely Hidle was a Tar and Wood contractor, which involved removing pine stumps for use in making turpentine. Death notice in "Montgomery Advertiser" newspaper dated 4/4/1930 reads as follows:

SAMSON, ALA., April 3. --(Special)-
Funeral for John Heidle, who died Wednesday morning in a Dothan hospital, was conducted by Rev. J.F. Powell at Shady Groe Church Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Interment will follow in the cemetery at that place.
The death of Mr. Heidle is the third casualty in the Marl neighborhood within the year from accidental explosion of dynamite, while blowing stumps. The other two men were killed instantly, but Mr. Heidle lived several hours after reaching the hospital, although he was horribly mangled, one leg and one arm being blown off and other injuries about the head and body.
Deceased was a farmer 41 years of age and is survived by a wife and seven children, his father, Sid Heidle, four brothers and three sisters.

A native of Samson, Ala., Mr. Hidle had lived in Macon for eight years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eaton Park, Fla. He was a printer with The Macon Telegraph and News and was a memeber of ITO Local No. 93
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Belle Kole Hidle; a son, Darryl Franklin Hidle of Macon; three brothers, Aubrey Hidle and Billy Rogers Hidle, both of Geneva, Ala., and Ross Douglas Hidle of Columbus; two sisters, Mrs. Maxie Eubanks of Panama City, Fla. and Mrs. Johnnie Sue Sowell of Miami, Fla; and three grandchildren.
