before me the undersigned authority Mr. John E Smith & August Simon, who after being duly sworn according to Law declares and say that they had been acquainted with Mr. Abner Jenkins for over ten years, and that he has ____ the ____ of having been a veteran of the years AD Eighteen hundred & fourteen and eighteen hundred & fifteen, as having been in the service of the state of Louisiana, and as such at the Siege of New Orleans, in the years eighteen hundred & fourteen & eighteen hundred & fifteen

Oath of Abner Jenkins

a veteran of 1814 and 1815

 

Personally came & appeared before me the undersigned authority Mr. Abner Jenkins, who after being duly sworn according to Law declares & says that he was regularly? in the military Service of the State of Louisiana in the years AD eighteen hundred & fourteen & eighteen hundred fifteen, and in that capacity was at the siege of New Orleans in December AD eighteen hundred & fourteen & January AD eighteen hundred & fifteen and that he is now and has been since that time residing in this Parish & State. He further more? declares and says that he was a private in Capt. Wm. Georges Company & Col. Womacks Regiment of Louisiana Troops and that he was afterwards honorable discharged from the Service.
