Your right that is Melford it went along with the picture of the twins
(Keith and Carl) with the blanket on them. I have lots more pictures
not sure of all the faces. Do you know if Claude was ever in the service
and how he died?
I know Melford died in a auto accident. Carl also died in a auto
accident along with another person. I have the news paper clipping from that
in his memorial book. Next time I get a chance to scan some more
pictures I'll scan the clipping also. You might have already found it. Let me
know?
I'm going to try that search that you did and see what I can find.

Taft, Kern Co.- UPI - The death toll rose to three today as a result of a fiery collision last night on the Taft Highway about seven miles east of here. Marvin Edsel Baker, 17, of Taft died this morning in a Taft hospital.
He was a passenger in a car driven by Melford Dean Knight, 21, of Taft, who was killed in the collision along with Lois Edna Sweat, 15, also of Taft. Seven other persons were injured.
Traveling 100 MPH
California highway patrolmen reported Knight was traveling nearly 100 miles and hour when he struck the car of Hermelo Herrera of Taft broadside while Herrera was attempting to cross the highway. The Herrera vehicle burst into flames.
Two other passengers in Knight's car were injured as were Herrera and his four children, ranging in age from 3 to 8. All victims except one of the Herrera children were thrown from the cars.
