OBITUARY: Mary Virginia Gasque, of Leighton, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the age of 82. She was a faithful Christian and wife, a loving mother of five, grandmother and great-grandmother. These were her greatest accomplishments. She was a member of Isbell Chapel Baptist Church, Colbert Heights. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Gasque, of Leighton; three sons, Douglas Gasque (Elsie), of Porter, Texas, Roger Gasque and Steven Gasque, both of Leighton; one daughter, Sandra Hallmark (Roger), of Leighton; daughter-in-law, Angela Terry Gasque, of Ford City; 15 grandchildren, Brian (Tammy), Kevin, LaDonya (Tony), Heather, Brandon (Heather), Caressa (Joe), Kerry (Lydia), Kelli (Cesar), Jessica (Jacob), Holly, Sarah, Christopher, Alex, Wesley, Lauren; and seven great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Jerry; her parents, Herbert and Carrie Mae Aday; and brothers, Buford, Orville and Howard Aday. Visitation was Thursday evening, and the funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Colbert Memorial Chapel, Tuscumbia. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Elder Bobby Amos and Brother Gene Franks. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Special thanks to Dr. Reinke, sixth-floor nurses and support staff of ECM Hospital and to Carla and all the others who stood by us and prayed for us. Thank you for your support.
