Francis Adams, was born in the town of York, in Livingston Co., N. Y., April 6, 1836. Removed to West Almond, Alleghany Co., N. Y., the same year and lived there till the 16th of March, 1874. Married to Lucinda Knight of the town of West Almond, daughter of Caleb and Cylinda Knight, on Sept. 14, 1858. She was born in West Almond, July 21, 1836. Republican, Baptst. Carpenter. Was in the late war as an officer of some company which, as a mark of respect, presented him with a sword. Nunda,Livingston Co. New York, is his address. They have four children, as follows, viz:

OBITUARY: Francis Adams
Angelica, May 3 – Francis Adams died at his home in Almond, April 25, 1919. He was born in York, Livingston Co., on April 6th, 1858 (1836) and was married to Lucinda Knight, September 14. 1858. He was a veteran of the Civil War and after he was in a hospital for a long time he was given the position of cook for General U. S. Grant. He was converted while young and acted as deacon of the Baptist church of West Almond and Almond nearly all his life. He is survived by his wife Lucinda and a sister and four children. Mrs. A. H. Potter and Mrs. C. C. Champlin of Alfred, W. C. Adams of West Almond and W.H. Adams of Hornell. Funeral services were held at his home in Almond and he was laid to rest I Hope Cemetery.
