Nathan Kinne came from Plainfield, Windham County, Connecticut, according to the family history, and bought a farm in Maplewood, in the town of Thompson, Sullivan County, New York. His farm was on what is now called Kinne Brook.
 
He married, at Pomfret, Connecticut, Deborah Knight. He married again about 1790, if the family records are correct. Children, by first wife: 1. Phebe, born October 29, 1773, died October 14, 1775. 2. Elias, April 12, 1775, died October 16, 1775. 3. Elisha, born October 14, 1776. 4. Mary, December 7, 1778. 5. Anne, March 5, 1781. 6. Oliver. 7. Betsey. 8. Wealthy, August 5, 1790, perhaps others. Children as given by family, probably by a second wife: 1. Elijah, born February 27, 1792, in Plainfield, Connecticut, married Rhoda M. Abbott, and remained in Connecticut some years after his father's departure, but came eventually to New York. 2. Daniel. 3. Robert Latham, mentioned below.

BIOGRAPHY: Notes of Edward Raymond Sandiford/1941-1956: *'Note: That the Hezekiah Whitney of Washington, CT. was the Hezekiah born to Enoch Whitney is covered by an affidavit among the pension papers of Hezekiah Whitney at Washington, D.C. ' *'Note: Hezekiah's Pension papers at Washington, D.C. give the information marked (a) above and below and the information that after his marriage he removed from Plainfield to that part of the Society of New Preston that in 1779 became part of Washington, CT.; that he served two consecutive enlistments in the Revolution, a total of 6 years; that he was at the surrender of Burgoyne at Saratoga and at West Point when Major Andre was captured. In their later years both he and his wife were badly crippled with rheumatism. In 1818 he applied for and got a pension. In 1837 his widow applied for and received his pension, giving her age as 81. Joseph Whitney of Warren, CT., by affidavit attested to his brother Hezekiah's war service and thereby identified himself as a son of Enoch.' Note from Edward Raymond Sandiford/1941-1956: *Married 'in Fall of 1774 at Plainfield, CT., by Rev. Alexander Miller' (pension papers).
